Hey all, welcome to @lapis bramble Gathering Guide. In the first posts below, you will see three different sheets with the results of my testing - one for mining, one for digging, and one for flowers/wood/wild harvestables.

@upper dew and I have been working on these guides and they will continue to be updated as we keep testing things out, so be sure to check back in every so often to keep your copy of the sheet up to date. Hello @spare bison I have done extensive play testing in this department and am happy to provide with specific timers for each wood type and flower in the game if you are interested.

How long do scallops take to respawn?

Never seems to be enough for the quests

Usually every few hours - most things seem to have a similar spawn like flowers, where they start appearing after 15 mins or so but can take a few hours for full spawn if you pick up everything in the area. (so if you only want scallops, only pick those up)

(also: if you're working on Ariel's table, collect enough for 2 before you make it. It's the only time you can make a copy for yourself!)

How long does it take dark wood to respawn? I'm having trouble getting more than 5 a day. Is there any trees I cam buy that spawn more dark wood?

Wood spawns by biome, not by tree. Here's a graphic that will help you with the dark wood.

@agile escarp Here are guides to see how often the flowers respawn! They are on timers, basically.

So to make sure I'm understanding, the number in the spreadsheet is how many of those flowers will spawn after 2 hours? Ex: 3ish green rising pestenmon spawn every 2 ish hours

No, that's the total number available in the biome, the max number that will spawn.

If I pick all 3, how long until more spawn?

They will start respawning in 15 mins. Since it's just three it shouldn't take TOO long, certainly not the full 2 hours.

So it's about 1 per 15 minutes and then the number in the spreadsheet is the cap?

So for wood if I put down 2 trees in each biome and then 12 of the wood type I don’t want I should get max wood spawn for the biome each respawn? (Looked at the dark wood guide but it’s confused me slightly)

Wood spawns by biome. So you need to move the wood type you don't want somewhere out of the way, and then put down trees for the other to spawn. There's a maximum number of each type of wood that spawns, so if you only pick up what you need, only that will respawn

Is the max number for each wood type on the results page of the google doc for resources? I’m trying to work out how many trees I would need for each biome to get max wood for each wood type

yup. Look at the wood one, it will tell you how much you should be getting per round of gathering on average.

You need a minumum of 4 trees for max wood spawn, but if you're only trying to spawn one wood type I think 2 trees works

Do I need to put down 12 of all the wood types I don’t want to spawn in that biome or just one type?

There are only 2 spawn types per biome. If you're looking for one type, just the other type needs to be left down

Global spawn, they start spawning 30ish mins after you dig them up, but they can appear in any biome. There are 3 per biome.

How long does it take for the Passion lily's to respawn?

Flowers start spawning after 15 mins and take 2 hours for full respawn if you picked them all up

Is the spawn rate of mining nodes the same as the other resources, the 15min to start ect.

No, mining nodes spawn in 5 mins

@lapis bramble what is the hardest to find gem? I have very few Topaz. Other than ore, which gems does the game require most of?

I’m out of quests, so I’m trying to spend my time working on the things that I need the most, like iron ore to make iron ingots. But I never know how much of my ore I should be turning into ingots.

Topaz is probably the hardest, but I can't tell you what's most used or otherwise hardest to get. That's not what I tracked.

You can look at the raw data and see for yourself but it does get a little confusing

Okay. I may just look at what I haven’t crafted yet, because it’s a lot, and see what’s needed for those things.

I’m just trying to pass the time while waiting to hear from my docs, but I don’t want it to feel like a grind. I kinda wish there was a secret “formula” for making the game more fun in between quests, when you aren’t someone that’s creative.

I've had the same problem.... had to leave the rugs, go back to the game and then go back into furniture mode to move the rugs.That was the only way that it worked

What’s the quickest way to gather dry wood and sand???

Sand is via digging in dazzle Beach + mining the calcium deposits that spawn daily, dry wood would be collecting via frosted heights, sunlit plateau, and forgotten lands w/ out gathering the other wood type in those biomes (hard or dark respectively)

Update It has recently been brought to my attention, after a discussion with some other community members, that having buddy bonuses while doing testing was maybe not a great idea. After all, new players don't have those buddies and don't get those bonuses and I was trying to find simply where the best places are.

I also want to do testing like this for Eternity Isle, so people have a good idea of where the best places are.

To that end, I am in the process of starting testing again. I will be doing it with NO buddies or anything. Once all the testing is done for mining and digging, I will post up the results here like I have done previously. However, with the update coming soon, it might take me a little longer than I would like.

Hey folks! I updated all the resource gathering guides for this year, and I did one for Eternity Isle as well! As of now, there's not as much testing done as last year but I may end up doing more as the year goes on. Please keep an eye on the files below for updated information. I will also update the snips of the main pages as the testing updates as well, so make sure you have the most recent versions.

Do we have an updated resource count for Storybook Vale?

No. Testing takes at least a month, sometimes two, of time to do, once I have everything open and no quests to do and the Check It Ralph is caught up. I do the testing during my downtime.

(not to mention, I think some of the spawns might still be broken. I know folks are having a HECK of a time with some of the trumpet snails and flowers not spawning, so I need to wait until they fix the spawns or my numbers will be WAY off)

I noticed that the resources from mining are good expect for the gems

What do you mean? Those gems are all found in those places

Those are averages - so over the course of 10 rounds (well, 10 per batch, and I did several batches of testing), that's what it averaged out to. If you look at the raw data that's included on the main sheet, you will see that some of my rounds had more gems than others, but ultimately it evens out.

I'm confused i don't get it much

Okay, for example: Take the Garnets in the plaza.

Some of my rounds got no garnets, some got 1, some got 2, some even got 3. By the time I did 20 rounds done, the average of all the regular garnets is 1.7/round.

Now, since the amount of garnets I got was not consistent, the number won't be a round number and it's not going to be the same. And of course you can't get 1.7 garnets/round - it's going to be a whole number. But i'm working with averages here, so it's not. This guide more or less gives you an idea of what to expect when you go mining, and it's MOSTLY for the ore/stone/coal. The gems were just something I additionally tracked, since some gems can be found in more than one biome.

question, when the Wiki says stone are found in "All Biomes" does that include everywhere in E.I as well? My in game menu for finding things is glitched and saying gems are in biomes they're not lol

Yes, and main valley gems are found in the EI and Vale areas as well.

Any tips for getting more iron? I keep doing rounds in the Glade and Forest and Mines but I cannot keep up with demand for certain tasks that require iron ingots. I've unlocked the Frosted Heights stall but he's not sold any iron.

i need pink rose for the lore keeper quest but i can't find any. how long does it take to respawn?

1 hour. Make sure you're only picking the pink ones in teapot or beanstalk to ensure thats the one that spawns next.

Make sure you're also checking the trial area in teapot. They tend to spawn there.
