Ooo so softwood isn't in all biomes anymore?

Correct! It's a wonderful thing 🙂 each biome is now focusing on 2 wood types (except for peaceful meadow, and likely the plaza - I'll reach out to the other players in #1036662627734147102 to see if someone can test for plaza just to confirm those two biomes function the same as before. My plaza is fully decorated and all softwood is hidden. I have not had other wood drops there though.)

I'm good, just removed anything not a tree cause it switches which trees gives branches.

I am doing some interesting testing now, early results are showing that the tree’s foot print effects the number of branches a tree can drop. Early findings are suggesting using the smallest footprint 2x2 trees are yielding the highest branch drop results. Counterintuitive, so going to dive in deeper, if anyone else notices interesting spawn behaviors please let us know in #1036662627734147102

Thank you for all this information it is truly helpful. I’ve been playing for awhile now and would like to start decorating. I didn’t understand which trees can be moved etc. Still figuring it out by reading your information. Can you share what you mean by “all softwood fully hidden”. Thank you.

I believe it's when you move the dropped wood (softwood in this case) that did spawn with furniture mode into an area that isn't easily viewed/visible. I did this before so my plaza wouldn't look as messy

Thanks @rain gyro I think I get it. Move the amount of wood dropped for the day behind a building and they will not spawn anymore?!Appreciate the answer!!

Question ! If I put plaza trees in frosted heights or forgotten lands do you think they would still spawn their respective woods ?!

Wood is by biome, not tree, so you can put any tree you want anywhere you want and it will still spawn the wood associated with that biome. 🙂

I've replaced all the trees in each biome with a small grove (8-10) of plaza trees. They are short and square and makes it much easier to see the wood on the ground around them.

Also, in Forgotten Lands, I moved all of the dry wood off to a corner so only the dark wood appears and makes it easier to pick up.
