I have broken down each meal you can make with pumpkins to show which one is the most profitable.

PumpkinDDV Pumpkins PumpkinDDV
Buy: 275
Sell: 664
Profit (Per Pumpkin): 389

PumpkinDDV Veggie Platter, 3 Pumpkins Used PumpkinDDV
Buy: at 275 per seed, the buy cost comes to 825 per platter
Sell: 2787
Profit: 1962
Profit Per Pumpkin: 654

PumpkinDDV Veggie Platter, 5 Pumpkins Used PumpkinDDV
Buy: 1375 to buy 5 seeds
Sell: 4115
Profit: 2740
Profit Per Pumpkin: 548

PumpkinDDV Pumpkin Puffs PumpkinDDV
Ingredients: 1 Pumpkin, 1 Egg, 1 Cheese
Buy: 275 + 220 + 180 = 675 total
Sell: 1489
Profit (Per Pumpkin): 814

But what if I add extra pumpkins to the puffs?
Each additional pumpkin added to the puffs only gives an extra 664 coins per puff added, so it is more profitable to turn those extra pumpkins into a separate puff.

PumpkinDDV Pumpkin Soup PumpkinDDV
Ingredients: 1 Pumpkin, 1 Ginger, 1 Milk, 1 Veg (Any)
For this part, we will use lettuce, as it is the cheapest seed to buy
Buy: 275 + 0 + 230 + 3 = 508 total
Sell: 1503
Profit (Per Pumpkin): 995

But what if I use a different vegetable for the "any" veg?
In the table attached I have broken down which "any" veg is the most profitable.

In the end, the most profitable meal is the pumpkin soup, but you are limited in how many you can make by how much ginger you have. All of the ingredients for puffs can be bought. With those two things factored in, pumpkin puffs are the better meal to make.

If you use a potato for the vegetable in the pumpkin soup, you get a better profit. Carrots too, but potato is highest profit i believe

Does the “buy price” account for veggies that harvest at 3:1 for their seeds, like the Okra?

No??? 3 pumpkin platters sells for 2787. Each additional pumpkin only adds 664 to the sell price. As show above the profit per pumpkin for the platters is 3=652 4=588 5=548

For puffs you spend 675 on ingredients and make 814 in profit
The ingredients for soup is 508 (varies depending on which any vegetable you use). The LOWEST profit you can get from pumpkin soup (depending on the veg used) is 853 which is still 200 more than the highest platter profit

There’s a difference between sell price and how much of it is actually profit

700 Pumpkins

Puffs
total cost for seeds, eggs, and cheese: 472,000
total sell price: 1,042,300
total PROFIT: 570,300

Soup
we will use the double pumpkin example, doing that will get you 350 soups
total cost for seeds and milk: 273,000
total sell price: 870,450
total PROFIT: 597,450

3 pumpkin platter
3 pumpkins per platter gets you a total of 233 platters, with 1 pumpkin left over
total cost for seeds: 192,500
total sell price: 649,371
total PROFIT: 456,871

4 pumpkin platter
4 pumpkins per platter gets a total of 175 platters
total cost for seeds: 192,500
total sell price: 603,925
total PROFIT: 411,425

5 pumpkin platter
5 pumpkins per platter gets a total of 140 platters
total cost for seeds: 192,000
total sell price: 576,100
total PROFIT: 383,600

400 seeds purchased, 700 pumpkins ended up with

The total profit for each meal increases by 275x300, which comes out to 82,500. That still makes the soup and puff profits higher than all three of the platter profits

It says the total sell price and the total profit

lone veldt

Thats the profit of the meal not what your actually making after spending on ingredients. But its fine, its not that serious 😂 I will take her explanation for what it is

gloomy kite
#

no, she includes the cost of the ingredients

rugged pulsar
#

sell price is how much it sells for. profit is what youre actually making when you factor in the cost of the ingredients

lone veldt
#

Its missing for the pumpkin puffs

rugged pulsar
#

no?????

lone veldt
#

I saw profit per pumpkin

rugged pulsar
#

thats the same as the total profit

#

theres only one pumpkin in the puffs

lone veldt
#

Ahh i was adding in extra originally

rugged pulsar
#

adding in extra pumpkins to the puff gets you only 664 additional coins to the sell price (389 in profit) so you are better off turning those extra pumpkins into puffs

lone veldt

Got it 👍🏽

Thanks so much for this guide @rugged pulsar! At least we have unlimited coal to buy now and it's only 5 coins each so still a great profit without going crazy mining. I'm making as much soup as I have ginger than doing puffs for the rest.

So trying to make 200 pumpkin soup and autofill wants to use everything except my 200 eggplants. 😑 Had to empty all of this out of my storage to get it to pick eggplant. It seems to have a set order of the veggies it picks. It went like this if it helps anyone else...
Lettuce
Corn
Seaweed (I know, right?)
Tomato
Mushroom
Bell pepper
Spinach
Carrot
Zucchini
Chile pepper
Okra
Potato
Asparagus
Cucumber
Onion
Eggplant (Finally!)

Pumpkin

pumpkin soup is the most profit per pumpkin, but you have to use ginger which can only be harvested and is therefore a limiting factor. pumpkin puffs with one pumpkin is the next most profit per pumpkin and all non-pumpkin ingredients can be purchased (the profit takes that cost into account) so it's the next best thing & a lot of people will make soup until they run out of ginger and then switch to puffs for the rest of the harvest/batch

I’m looking at you graphic right now, and for some reason the “highest Profit” with Eggplant as the “any vegetable” ingredient has a lower sell price and profit compared to using Pumpkin as the “Any Ingredient”. So is the Pumpkin as the “Any ingredient” better?

I’ve been using eggplants this entire time. 😵‍💫

Yes the seed price is accounted for

When using two pumpkins in one soup, it sells for 2487 coins. After taking out the purchase price, you are making 1707 coins in profit. Then you need to account for how many pumpkins are being used, so divide that profit number by 2 and you get 853.3 coins in profit per pumpkin

Soup with eggplant uses just one pumpkin, so the 1353 profit is the profit per pumpkin for that one

Using 2 eggplants in the soup instead of one pops the soup sale up to 2261 which is 1566 profit but i still can't decide if it's a waste to do it just to get an extra 100 or so coins for an extra eggplant

Ya it would sorta just depend on each individuals situation if you only have a small amount of ginger and really want to make the most money with each ginger adding an xtra eggplant or any veg really would squeeze a few more coins out of each soup and since ginger is the limiting factor any 5th ingredient you add is almost a freebie since you already had it anyway. But if you r stock piling ginger b4 making soup it’s less necessary to get every last coin out of the soup and may be better off saving the xtra veggies for times when u specifically need them

after reviewing this thread does price per pumpkin really matter after having like a tremendous amount of pumpkins 3,575 is how much i plant and with that said shouldn't it shift from price per pumpkin to the sell price? it would take a tremendous amount of grinding to get the proper amount of ginger to make pumpkin soups and who has the patience to want to make that? wouldn't 5 pumpkin veggie platters seem like the best way to go about it?
