My issues on PS5 after the update: keeps disconnecting from online mode.

Before and after the update I still have these issues:
Ice rocks won't spawn anymore
The timer with music where multiple items spawn, the items dissappear before the music ends. The only one that works is with coins, the rest don't. The critters I feed will not unlock.

It's not an audio issue. It's an issue with the spawns disappearing before the timer runs out 😊 and what about the critters issue?

@spice vessel As of today, I too am having issues with it constantly disconnecting me from online mode. Happens frequently, and my internet connection is stable and online. Edit to add- console is PS5 also.

@spice vessel The only thing I found to help was to completely close the game and relaunch it and then it will connect again, but only for a short time before it disconnects and goes back to being offline.

PS4 crashed after a few hours of play with no problems. Might have overloaded. I just left the shop and saw Minnie. She started to run from me and I pursued her. I tried to talk to her and she disappeared and a squirrel had got in the way and while the screen was on the squirrel 🐿️ for interaction the game crashed. While reloading the game my data had been corrupted. I shut down the game and reloaded again and cloud save was successful. That was wild ... Btw where's Minnie's costume? 🥺

Second question, not sure if it’s a bug or not, maybe not even a question tbh lol but I’m noticing the Halloween rewards (trick or treat, sugar rush, etc) are not giving out rewards for me. Not sure if that’s a common issue or even a known one, but I wanted to bring awareness to it jic

Make sure to avoid anything that you know makes you crash, too many blue screens make the save corrupted and it’ll just end up going back every save until all of them are corrupted.. this game is not trust worthy enough for a PlayStation 4 console at this moment because it can’t handle all the bugs @tall onyx

For now honestly I’d sit it out and wait for them to announce a more stable connection for ps4 or indeed get the game on your laptop! Even with the new update, I can’t retrieve my previous game that was deleted be due to one of the glitches.

It used to be that my PS4 crashes were predictable--going through doors, after getting Eric (I've played through several times already). Now I have fewer crashes, but they are unpredictable. I'll let you know if I see a pattern.

The game still doesn't like it when I want to redesign the Valley. I don't even try to design an outfit. You still have to play the game very carefully and slowly. CE 34878-0 (PS4 Slim)

So I manage to enter and exit scrooges place without the game error coding. Haven't tried my characters house yet as I'm dubious about it. Picking up memories lags but doesn't crash... However when I fast travel via the wells my game says a big "hahaha, I don't think so" before error coding on me.

After yesterday’s update, the game has been much more stable on my PS4 Slim and has only crashed once yesterday evening and twice this evening, always when I enter the wardrobe customisation menu; however, as I reloaded the game, a new error message came up: “Cannot load the saved data because it is corrupted.” As such, I have lost my entire save file that I have been playing on every day for over a month - the game behaves as if it has never been played before. Is there any way it can be recovered? Is Gameloft aware of this? Sure, its constant crashing was appalling, but I’m not sure this is a better alternative…

Yesterday I got like 6 crashes and after one my save file was damaged and I needed to get it from the cloud again, this happend the day befor too and I'm scared that It will cause some serious damage in future.

That's why I always upload my saves to the PS Cloud after every session. If you don't have this, use a USB stick or hard drive. Automatic uploads are of course off, so there are no unwanted uploads.
Since the update, I also upload my save to the server cloud every 2 hours. Doubly secured in case my save is also gone due to a crash.

This happened to me on my ps4 slim. I reopened the game and it tried to make me start over so I exited out, waited a few minutes and opened it again. This time the game asked me which save I wanted and I saw cloud save had kept my progress and I got my game back.

The CE-3487-0 error happened again to me, this was entering my house. So far, both times I got the error have to do with leaving/entering houses.

Other than that, things are going fairly smooth.

Same issue with Moana really frustrating and also crashes a lot when I try leaving or entering my house sometimes and occasionally just goes randomly. Internet Connectivity issues even though other games have no issues.

Issue: Continues to crash upon leaving your own house. I haven’t tried the other villagers homes yet because it’s so frustrating. If you avoid your house and scrooges and the villagers homes you can play a bit but that makes things really difficult.

I am still getting crashes but I was able to play for a solid 3hrs last night before it did crash upon leaving my house. I was in and out of a lot of homes so it's definitely better than it was before the update at least.

One thing I try to remember to do is to quickly manually save before entering or exiting. It's annoying but it does at least help prevent some progress loss as the auto-save is only every 5minutes (I believe).

Definitely not a work around solution but it might help some at least feel like progress isn't lost.

I didn’t know for sure but I don‘t think so because you have an online account related to x-box and pc which is the same and you can use your x box pass on both and you have an online account for playstation which is not compatible with x-box, pc or switch.
As long as it‘s not possible to have only one online account for all platforms or we will be allowed to invert and use our x-box account too in the playstation game like minecraft do, I think it isn‘t possible to cross play on all platforms together.

PS4 Pro and the chrashes started to get more worse when I play more story quests, get more villager and Co. As long as I have only 5-6 Villager, all was running fine but after that it started to get more worse. Now with 10 villagers, my game chrash every 2 hours. 😩

Since the autumn update I have not been able to get in the game at all, I press continue and he loading bar like gets half way and then the music stops and the loading stops and it just stays frozen, have reached out to game devs on the website but still no reply and I'm just stuck on what to do.

I had a corrupted file that appeared to be a random cloud save (having never done this type of save before), which prevented me from loading my current save. I had to start over (losing two weeks of games in the process), so that this save wouldn't come back. In the meantime, I took out a PS+ subscription to save on the Cloud. I tested, by making a save of the new game on the Cloud then deleting the one in the console (To check that the Cloud Save works) but this save does not load. what should I do ?

Did you download the saved cloud data from the cloud to the console again?

I think that’s how you use that cloud save from PS+ (never done this before…). You take the auto save file and overwrite the old cloud save with it. So the auto save is backed up in that cloud save. You then take that cloud save and re-download it back to the system overwriting the “corrupted” auto save file that was in the system.

Then you should open up the game again…but at this point, I wouldn’t really know If you’d be able to continue it. This is just how I think it should be done…I’ve never done this before, nor have I ever tried it. 😶

I did this before cause I had 2 corrupted save files after a crash and I can confirm it works exactly the way you told above.
If you enter the game after loading in your back up save from PS+ cloud, the game detected a save time conflict and will ask you if you wanna use your (older) local save or your cloud save and then I choose cloud save and I don‘t lose anything and can continue the game.
So it‘s very important to cloud save often (ingame) in case the local save got corrupted and an older save has to bring back up.
(Sorry for my english, not native speaker here.)

Unfortunately it crashed for me right after getting Elsa moved in and the improved pickaxe. Corrupted my save file and the only save I had on the cloud was before I had any of the biomes unlocked. I’m so defeated and I hate that I worked so hard to get to where I was to lose everything. Annoyed is an understatement

Great to hear…but I’m a bit confused: is there a difference between the ingame cloud save in the settings, and the PS+ cloud save? What’s the point of cloud saving in the game itself if the cloud save we’re using comes from the PS+ cloud save accessible from the PlayStation’s home menu (where you select the options over the game application and do the cloud save from there)….

Use the cloud save from outside the application.

If you hit the “Options” button when your hovering over the DDV application in you PS menu, you should see an option that says “save/download save data” or something like that. This is where you cloud save. If there’s a cloud save data that you want present, you can overwrite the corrupted auto save data that’s in your system by downloading the data from the cloud and overwrite the original (corrupted) save data.

Then when you open up your game, it should ask you what data do you want to use. If it works, then choosing the “new” cloud data should restore your game.

This is how I understand it to work. Someone here confirmed it for me too…but I never had to use this myself yet.

Yes, there is a different. The ingame cloud save is a function to save directly to the ingame server running by gameloft. Mostly the game only save to the ingame cloud if you are closing your game and the game ask you to save before closing it. If you are going to setting -> help -> cloud saving, you can save manually as often as you like or need into the ingame cloud to be on the safe side if the game got‘s corrupted.
Due to the problem that the local save is an automatically save all 5 mins, it can be happen that the crash appears while auto saving which result in a corrupted local save. The ingame cloud save stay intact but if you load up your game the corrupted local save will prevent you from starting the game. It will stay in loading screen forever.
If I have an back up save on my playstation in my PS+ Cloud on a Sony Server, I can load down this and bring back my local save before it was corrupted. Now I‘m able to start my game again BUT the back up local save is normally way older then the ingame cloud save. (If I often save ingame to the cloud to be on the safe side.)
The game detected the time save conflict and will ask you if you wanna go with your older local save or the newer ingame cloud save. Choosing ingame cloud save will bring all your progress back. Choosing local save will overwrite the ingame cloud save with the older version of the local save. This is the best way to go if you are running in a quest bug and wanna roll back time to prevent the bug or start the quest over.
Best way for now is, to save often into the ingame cloud and to load up often our saves into the PS+ Cloud to be on the safe side.

I only had 2 crashes since the update. However today I tried to log in and it said "cannot load saved data"... Now when I restarted the console and rebooted the game, it started over with the prequel footage. I quickly closed the game, and I'm scared to open it again. When I look at save files, it still shows 10/29 thankfully, but I don't have cloud save as that's a premium feature for PS+. Unsure what to do now...

EDIT: I signed up for PS+ free trial, saved to cloud, did a quick overwrite for good measure, and rebooted. IT WORKED! A couple of minor crashes since then, but HEY I got my full game back and lost no progress 🙂

It's not the game this time. The servers can't handle the current load. If you want a refund, you'll likely have to contact whatever provider (steam, epic, nintendo store, etc) you got the game from and see if they will.

Well, they just mentioned on a tweet that the loading issue is their top priority at the moment.

And that, as a thank you for us having to sit through some of the Early Access game’s technical problems, they will be giving ALL players in-game compensation.

They also just dropped the rumored hot fix they planned for us. It was finished earlier than they expected.

I really hope that the compensation is Moonstones. It’s the best thing they can offer that will be useful no matter what it’s used for.

Another update and this game is still not playable. My game has been stuck on the same quest for 2 months now every time I load in. I load in to take a photo with goofy for his level 10 quest and it doesn’t let me take any photos and then freezes us all there, I can’t move or anything and everything is broken. Hi. I’m playing on PS4.

I just wanted to post that I crashed 2 times in a row (a few hours apart from each crash). And they both resulted in my game data being corrupted! (It’s my first time experiencing a corrupted crash.)

Luckily, I have PS+ so I had an extra backup of my auto save data from 3 days ago. Downloading it back up to the system (where the corrupted data was now gone) allowed me to select my original cloud save from the Disney Dreamlight Valley server and recover all my progress.

I’m wondering if the new hot fix updates are what’s responsible for my game’s crashing resulting in 2 sequential corruptions of my game data, since this is the very first time it’s happened.

Question for the moderators here (or for anyone that knows the answer); would it have been possible for me to retrieve my original cloud save data from the DDV servers without downloading my backup data from PS+?

Only crashes so far since the hotfix have been while unloading my backpack into my storage chests or directly after as I'm walking away. I've done a very few fast travels and they worked fine, rain doesn' t threaten to crash the game anymore. And I haven't crashed after exiting a building since the hotfix either.

In the quest "The ancient doorway" from Ariel i had to talk to Remy about his passions. I talked to him and my game crashed. When i started up my game again the task wasn't succeed, but when i talked to Remy i couldn't bring up to talk with him about his passions. That’s concerning…since I’m going to be doing this quest soon. Maybe if you do the same thing people suggest with the Ursula quest in the Forgotten lands, it could help? Take the quest off of the highlight tracker, save the game, quit, close the application, and turn off the console. Turn it back on, start up the game again, highlight the quest, and talk to Remy or Ariel again…? I wouldn’t know if this will work…it’s just a suggestion.

I’m going to be thinking ahead and have my game saved from before that task (using the PS+ cloud save)…and if it crashes and the same thing with Remy happens, I can reload my save data from before the crash. (Wouldn’t know if this will work either, but I think it might.)

Same on alll of this! I’m on PS4. I get atleast 1 crash per day, sometimes more if I’ve been playing for multiple hours. Every single time that it happens, it is when I’m entering or leaving a building. Every time I get a couple hours deep, I find myself starting to say “please don’t crash” when I interact with a door, because I know it’s coming. It hasn’t really bothered me because I know it’s pre-release and there are still a lot of bugs for them to workout. But I feel like the crashes are becoming more frequent, & the 2 load screens feel like they take longer and longer each day.
The crafting menu freezes for me pretty frequently and the Fences and Paths menu is basically always blank. I get stuck on that page almost every time until I close out of the crafting menu.
