I’ll be doing a forgotten lands decorating stream this week too, so more to come in this whimsical almost fairy forest style.

My personal decorating style is not spooky there at all though - I even use the portable radio to stop the spooky sound effects.

The trees are in the furniture section all the way down under trees and they are frozen willows.

Yes you can! It makes the area a lot more pleasant. I put one radio on each corner of the biome and one in the center. There is a glitch though where only the default radio station works. When I change radio stations on one, it just turns off the other completely for some reason.

Hmm follow up, since the update it doesn’t seem quite as effective at covering sound effects, still does a bit though.

It does help it to clear it a bit first, put in what you want, then add trees and shrubs back in to make it look 'creepy' again.

I have Merlin and Buzz there Buzz I felt like he needed some Alien vibes and those green flame holes gave it that vibe. Then Merlin well bc he's so mysterious and since we don't have Master Yin figured he would be perfect there. I did have Woody down below in the Sunlit bc the top of it gave an alien space ship vibe for Buzz but then I saw that update 4 is theme park so I moved Woody to the Forrest bc huge area to set up a theme park in so I covered the entrances with trees so it gave this feeling that you stumbled across the carnival while walking through the Forrest everything just kinda fell into place.

I took this last September when re-doing the place from scratch. This is a great time to set up big things like buildings, farm fields, and pathways.

🤔 hmm....many people have put him in that corner to the NW, and the spiral hill next door
some have set up a "spooky avenue" and then lined it with the haunted mansions and tower of terror buildings

the spooky treehouse would work in your favor with that setup 😃

as for the cats, I've actually gotten duplicates of those and the tables, and scattered them all over my plaza and meadow this past Halloween
often I had them flanking the entrance to somewhere, just like those green fountains

🤔 you know....you could say the FL could qualify as a place where it's Halloween all year long...and you could put any leftover Halloween decor like pumpkins around if you want, particularly if they're around Jack's house 😏

I just remembered, be careful when setting up paths around the treehouse, the footprint can be kinda fussy when it comes to pavement.

With the trees that came with the forgotten lands how do we place those so they spawn still?

I noticed it's mostly the tall, straight ones that seem to spawn the dark wood, and most definitely the purple trees you can see in my photo up there
the arch trees are a bit of a problem, but they're good for aesthetics if you're not worried about gathering resources
the rocks should be placed in spots where you think your character won't be walking much, like in corners away from the trees
the purple flower bushes are great for gardens or next to buildings 🙂 the red ferns look nice on the purple grass
there's this one tree that has 2 appearances it switches back and forth between when you grab it from the menu
sometimes it looks like a red bonzai tree, other times it looks like a regular, spindly, leafless tree

if you really need dark wood, I'd recommend putting one of these in the biome:

oh don't worry, I think there are items you can craft with at your worktable, like that banner, certain pumpkin decorations, the scarecrow, a vase full of wheat, etc.
plus Scrooge sells generic pumpkin/gourd decorations you can use
in fact, when Halloween was over last year, I took down the Nightmare Before Christmas stuff in my Valley, but left up the pumpkin/harvest items because of November 🙂
