I have had so many people ask me about my Storage and organization so I thought I would just pop in here and share it with you all! But I would looooove to know how you are organizing everything for yourself as well! 😄

As you can see I have a whole section in my Plaza dedicated to chests! I decided to organize by biome and spent a few days figuring out how I wanted to lay everything out! SO here is a breakdown of each chest!

I started by crafting 2 for every biome and then I used the signs from around the Valley to mark which set of chests is for which Biome. I wanted to have at least a stack of everything but in some cases 2 stacks - so either 50 or 100 of each item!

I then decided what goes with what biome - some of these were easy like the Plaza but others were harder since some things come from multiple biomes!

Using the signs to mark which chests go with each biome is genius. They’re kind of pointless where they are because I just use the wells to transport and I already know the layout if I’m walking. Using them as identification for the chests is perfect.

I used three rooms in my house plus tables/counters like I’ve seen other people do! It lets you see what’s in each chest to make finding things easier. It’s not a perfect system with the sizes of things, various things that won’t let you place them on tables, but it’s been working really well for now! I have a room for crafting supplies, one for fish and other food supplies, and one for flowers!

I have this in every area and it is more than enough storage atm...also, it looks pleasant. I have crafting items in 4 chests by my house next to the Workbench, Spices in a chest just behind Remy's, and fish are all stored in 2 chests next to Moana's boat.

I dedicated 3 side rooms in my house as storage - one for crafting materials (1 type of item per chest), one for gems (the same, but I use the safe for dreamshards since they can’t be placed on a table; I also placed ruby and sapphire on a table to not craft with them by accident until they are fully added to the game) and one for flowers (just sorting them by color).
That leaves plenty of space for later, in case some new materials are added to the game too!
I also put two chests next to Wall-E’s garden for whatever he grows for me to cook. (I don’t keep what I grow myself, that’s for selling)
It’s not perfect, but works well for now 🙂

So I have this cute little set up in each biome. I keep a stack of everything that is in the biome in the chests next to goofys stall. That means the items that are duplicate will have a stack of 50 for every biome they are in. Also when I say everything in the biome I mean all the fish and gems as well. The left chest will have all the flowers, fruit and vegetables that grow in the biome and the right chest has the fish and gems in the biome. It's not necessary to have two chests I just like to have it a bit more organized.

I took a BIG chunk of my plaza and made it a storage and crafting area for the time being! I have a few extra chests for anything new added to the game as well!

Right now I have it separated by food/crops, crafting/gems/dreamlight crystals, fish/seafood, and then flowers from all biomes!

One thing I'm doing is adding one of the connected chests (the one you have in your house with upgrade dependent slots; if you empty it out and tuck it in your inventory, you can buy more from Scrooge's for 3,200 apiece) into each biome, so that I can easily dump my latest gatherings into a chest that goes home, where I can sort it better. My house has three storage rooms on the ground floor - one for food, one for assorted stuff like rocks and glass and so on, and the Vault (which is where I stash my gold ingots and gems, hee.) I also have chests near Remy's (to store his specific ingredients), the garden (to store garden crops), the fishing boat (to store fish), and each of Goofy's stalls, plus at least one in each biome to store whatever that biome generates until I have enough to make it worth transporting home.

The way I do it:
Three flower chests directly behind my home.
Seed chests next to my crops
Gem chest next to one of the mining rocks.
My house main room has the crafting table and chests with crafting materials on the left side, and on the right side i have my cooking station and chests for ingredients. Chests are separated by types. A chest for fish, a chest for spices that you pick up, a chest for fruits from trees/bushes. In this room everything is basically organized in a way if anything is required for a quest it's easy to pick up.

Then, I have two rooms of the left and the right that are filled with chests that have no particular organization (other than crafting materials being on the left room and ingredients on the right) to be used as mass storage (since crafting and cooking stations will take things directly out from them)

I put a chest next to a farming plot in each biome and put all the crops from that biome in it. Not extremely brilliant, but it works well for me!

I put all my trees and bushes together and placed a chest in front of them. Planning on adding another chest. Easier to collect all at once.

The tables I’m using are black island tables from Scrooge’s store if anyone’s interested.

The inventory is shared between them! So like if you played ACNH, it’s like the garden shed things they added that will let you access storage when you aren’t in your house

You have to pick it up from where it’s placed and have it in your inventory. Then you go to Scrooge and he will let you order more! These are not separate chests though- the things you put in them are shared between all of them that you place

I’ve been hearing people say they have been keeping them, so I’m just following that. You do need specific ones for quests E.g a pretty early merlin quest needs 5 emeralds. You can only get them from a few locations so searching for them becomes quite difficult. It soft-locked me for days as I just couldn’t progress until I had 5.

What kind of item is it? Is it like a crop or some kind of gatherable item that you’d be able to use “pick up” out of build mode? I’ve found that seems to work best as I’ve been arranging things. It’s a little annoying to have to drop them again, but less annoying than I find fighting placement mode lol

How come you have so many, what are you saving them for? I'm asking out of genuine curiousty, I have seen a lot of people have huge storage systems like yours. I just have one or two chests in each biome and keep the stuff there, just up to 50. I usually sell everything else. I keep my chests near houses or stalls, and I try to make a crafting table and stove in each area too for less running around.

Money is such an easy resource to get in the game that it's not really worth selling anything but pumpkins. Whenever an event or a new character comes in the future I know I can just cook or build whatever is needed without having to grow crops or chase resources unless it is a star path that explicitly tells you to harvest/forage/grow or a new resource.

I'm hoping that one day they'll remove the object limit, and then I can craft whatever I like to put in the valley even if they don't allow you to order craftables from Scrooge.

Also should I need money I could always sell something when the need arises.

And I got to say, I love the Scroogey hoarder feeling of having a 15 floor bin of riches. 😂

I’ve got a whole setup that seems to be working for me. I have this setup outside my house so I can easily fast travel to my house from anywhere. Kristoff’s stall nearby if I need anything and so I can make sure to check his stock each day. This little setup of a stove, crafting table, and goofy stall for east quick access as well.

Pumpkin plots all over meadow and some in plaza for 💰

I have setups like this in each biome. I will empty my pockets into the home chest periodically, fast traveling back to the house when both chest and pockets are full.

Entering the house I have a house chest and three chests with flowers, in alphabetical order by type.

Door to the left goes to my resources/crafting room.

Door to the right goes to my kitchen.

And then of course I have house chests in all three rooms to manage my pockets as needed be. 🥰

I have a room decorated to storage in my house that I group different chests in. One portion for leftover cooking ingredients, another portion for flowers and another portion for leftover crafting materials. I put all my crystals and quest items in the chest the game came with. Outside my house I have a chests dedicated to seeds. Outside of remys I have two chests dedicated to food I made. One of the food chests being for anything lower than 5 stars and the other for 5 stars. By Wall-E's garden I have 3 chests also for cooking ingredients. By moanas boat I have a chest for fish and another for seafood on the beach near it

I wanted to share my home storage and hopefully give y'all some ideas/inspiration. Pictures show each room from the entrance and then a top view.

I have four rooms total setup for storage, all on the first floor of my house. Each room has a vintage chest in it and each biome has one as well. When I'm doing mat gathering, I'm able to drop things off in the chests and then just grab it once I'm back home in the appropriate room. The four rooms cover gems, materials, food, and flowers.

the vintage looking chest that comes with the house when you start playing can be bought again by scrooge so that you have two. This chest will always have the same inventory, so you can place one in your house and one outside, and access the same items from both places. (if youve ever played minecraft, it basically works like an ender chest)

Oh, this was the og thread I was looking for! Lol. I posted this somewhere else already, but meant to here.
I did my storage around my garden and set up a crafting area, a cooking area, and a little sitting area to plant and read.
Also have a "dump chest" in each biome next to Goofy's stall.

I usually do a mixture of things, but like for minerals I like to separate because I like to collect massive amounts of them. so if it were flowers, i'd try and stuff as many as I can in one chest by color. so it just depends on the item and what I'm displaying on the tables to tell me which items are in what chest

I have 3-5 floors of fully upgraded rooms where each room is labeled by each category that you can find in the collection menu. And I have a chest lined up in order of the items in each category.

I have 2 chests that are just assorted "I need this for later but not in my inventory" stuff, and I have a room that I am slowly turning into a proper storage room. Right now it just has a box for gems though. As it grows the "Assorted" chests will be emptied and moved, and used for specific purposes.

I've just basically been making rows of chests and storing things by "type", so one row for plants, one row for fruits/veggies/spices and other grown stuff, a row for mining/gems and a row for fishes, all the sticks and stones, one chest for stones and other misc items go into the chest that you start out with

I didn't bother buying more Scrooge treasure safes or putting up tables with stored item displays or anything. Just put crafted chests in different rooms (e.g. food goes in the kitchen) and then spread them to different corners based on what type it was (e.g. garden harvests to the left, foraged food in the middle, fish to the right). I don't bother keeping massive numbers of anything, just one or two stacks, so I don't have massive numbers of chests and can still remember where everything goes. Not the most sophisticated system, but it works for me.

Thought this was worth sharing here. Not sure if this is the place since it's not just about storage so let me know if there's a better place for this. I consider myself to still be early game, so this is how I organize my stuff. This is just the Plaza, I haven't really messed with the other biomes yet.

Numbers 1, 2 and 3 are Player House, Remy's Restaurant, Scrooge's Shop, and some chests. I do have 4 or 5 rooms in my house I can use as a storage room, but having to enter the house every time my inventory is full is a bit annoying. I also like my house near the restaurant and shop.

For n. 3, I separate my chests by both biomes and categories. I do the categories the same way the game does. The first chest way in the back are for "crafting materials" so wood, rocks, soil, etc. The one besides it is for gems & shards. The 6 chests after that are for flowers. Each chest is for a different biome. The other three chests are for fish. The one in the middle is for clams, scallops and oysters. The one chest alone in the front row is for the crafting category . Not crafting materials, but refined materials, enchantments & potions, etc. And also quest items.

N. 4 is Wall-e's garden, and I also moved all bushes and trees out of their biomes. Makes it easier when I want to collect fruits. Dunno if this has to do with anything, but most of the time when I go there to collect fruits, there are more than 10 wood to collect on the ground. Maybe bushes and trees increase the chance of wood spawning near them? idk

N. 5 is Remy and Wall-e's houses. I just think it would make sense for them to live near the places they work, and also they take up space and kind of beautify the Plaza.

N. 6 is where I plant stuff. I wanted to make my farm near number 4, but unfortunately there was no space there.

I moved all unlocked pillars to N. 7 because... I could. I will probably organize them a different way later.

Jesus. Ok. This was a lot. Don't even know if I should have posted it here, but I hope it helps people (and if you have any criticism for me, please feel free to say it). If there is a better place to send this instead I will gladly move it there!!!

Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention. All ingredients go inside the house. I like to stack them until I have 50 of each. Only spices take up 2 slots (for now I have 33 slots, I think). After I have 50 carrots for example, if I have some carrots in my inventory, I will sell the 50 carrots and replace the ones in the chest with the ones in my inventory (I'm not good at articulating so my wording here must be confusing, sorry about that).

Hi all, I am finally thinking I can share my WIP storage. I think I have some before and after snaps of all of them. I started with it just being storage, then realized I wanted them to look nice. This is all my first floor, and they are all still WIP between wanting more materials, and also waiting on specific furnishings (ugh my kitchen will be taking FOREVER).

Kitchen, I have two after snaps because I moved things to the corner... not sure if I'm going to switch things back

I split my materials room into a workshop and a green house. I will be adding a workbench in the workshop soon... Hoping a nicer looking one will be available soon

I must be doing something wrong with my chests, as I bought 4 off scrooge and when I place each one next to a stall and open it its the same contents to the chest in my house. So so I have to make these from scratch to get them empty or are scrooge's chests OK and is there a toggle between all chests. Totally confused here.
BTW completed all levels to max 10. Not had the update yet (UK GMT) x

All my vintage chests placed in biomes have now disappeared. I still had the one in my house and it contained the items still. I didn’t try to place any new vintage chests in biomes to see if they go back to doing what they did before as shared storage drop zone.

As of Update 3, the Dark Wood Vintage Chest can only be placed inside the player home.

If you had placed this item outside previously, it will now be in your furniture inventory under Storage. Once placed (inside your home), you will find it still contains its previous inventory of items.

Hi All, did I read somewhere that it says our player can go beyond level 10, or was it the villagers? I got these books and no idea what to do with them, some can change from one skill to another, but these other books just don't give any idea what they're about TIA

As far as I know, the books are for changing the skill of a villager that is already level 10. For example, if you set Mickey to fishing but want him to do mining instead, and you've already reached max friendship, you can make a book that will change him to mining.

As far as going above level 10, I haven't seen anything like that, my level 10 friends still show that 10 is the maximum, even with gifting etc.

In my main living area I use the fridge for items from Chez Remy, and the chest next to that is all my veggies. I have one safe for regular gems and the other is for shiny gems. The chest next to the front door is just for coal, and the vintage chest is for critter food…I’m really hoping they fix that so I can put them back in my biomes 😞

The chests are all there. The main ones look different now since you can make them different sizes. The mickey and friends one likely went to your inventory if you had them outside your home, but you can place them outside again

I'm having an issue finding good display tables. What are your favorites?

I get really frustrated when I try to display something (for example, flowers) and like... ONE color of a certain flower takes 4 spots when it's other color variants only use 1. Or the fish being all different display sizes.

Also I like to display each thing that's in a chest, but with the largest tables that give me 8 spots, everything just kinda looks random and cluttered because the tables hold different amounts of each flower (I'm doing it by biome but plan to switch to color coded) and then the chests are all different lengths apart. [See picture]

I just hate the idea of having one chest for one item each because then sorting will take FOREVER since we don't have a mass "send-to-chest" button for all of them at once.

So also, how is everyone arranging fish?

I have a crafting storage room, a gem room, and each biome has a chest beside the fountain which holds all the flowers and fish exclusive to that biome. I have one large chest beside my orchard (not yet complete), and will be popping a chest beside Wall-E’s garden and Moana’s boat
