Platform- PC/Controller type PS4 My controller randomly stopped connecting to the game, the only thing that works when I tried to use it is rotating the camera. I have tried 3 different controllers and none of them are connecting with the game.

Controller fully stops responding other than RS to rotate the camera, unable to interact with anything or open menus. Tried switching controllers to no avail. Had to close game and reboot to get it working again.

Since the patch, whenever I am playing with my switch docked, all of a sudden all the controls stop working except the camera. I can still go out to my main switch menu and access menus and have the joycons be responsive, but not in-game. Particularly seems to happen in the Forgotten Lands

Sometimes when opening the menu and especially when opening the map, some of the controller buttons stop working, even keyboard buttons don't work anymore. It's totally random, sometimes the L1 doesn't work, sometimes X or O.

My keyboard suddenly stopped working. Nothing happens when pressing WASD or ESC or anything. The mouse works, and I can switch windows, but as soon as I enter the game I cant use the keyboard.

Issue: Controller will seemingly partially "disconnect," causing some controls to malfunction.
Seen with: Xbox (generic brand, wired), Xbox (official brand, wireless), and PS5 (generic brand, wired).

I have not been able to find a precise cause that triggers this to occur, although I did observe a small blip of lag before two such occurences. Essentially, while doing some tasks - either persistent controls like held buttons/toggles or buttons that are pressed repetitively (walking/turning camera for too long, holding to plant/harvest, repetitive button presses for removing thorns, etc.)

Issues are fixed after changing to keyboard/mouse briefly or client restart. Not observed 100% of the time.
Will update if cause is found.

I play DDV both on desktop and laptop and noticed that the keyboard controls seem complete on my laptop's keyboard, but not desktop keyboard (using a Razer keyboard). Such as the ESC key - it does not open the settings menu like it does on the laptop. Also, only some of the other menus shortcuts work. On the laptop when I complete a dreamlight duty, a pop up shows to press "U" to redeem it - and press "U" opens said menu. On the desktop version "U" does nothing and even the pop up for completing dreamlight duties does not show the hint to press "U" to redeem it.

My controller will connect to my computer like everything else and will work o other games but once i open DLV, the controller will do absolutely nothing on the game, movement or anything.

Issue: When unlocking a new memory or memory puzzle piece, the memory pops up over our Collection screen, but when clicking out of the detailed view, there's no indication of what memory I've just been looking at (in terms of collection or how to find the other pieces), and the cursor is sometimes not even on the Memories tab but on Fishing or Recipes or whatever.

To add to this, this issue seems to happen most frequently when navigating through the memories, making it difficult to look up stuff for quests

Issue: when I open the memories tab it just starts scrolling through down until it reaches the bottom. There's no way to stop this and no way to change tabs or to a different collection until it stops. Once it stops I can change to any collection, then back to memories and it doesn't move unless I tell it to. So just when it's first opened does it scroll to the bottom before I can do anything.

Issue: I was playing with my xbox controller and when I was removing the forgetting thorns my controller stop responding. I then try to use my mouse and keyboard but still no response. Can't move camera, walk around or open menu. I had to restarted the game for it to work again.

Switch Left Joy in game will not work at all it works if I disconnect from the console and it works perfect anywhere else but in this game

Issue: I dont know where to put this bug, but when you are in the inventory and go to the far right column, the thing to chose what you want to use adn that you move around (like the mouse on pc) dissapears if you try scrolling lower than the lowest expanded row/item and doesnt reaper, forcing me to close the inventory and open it up again.

i have a weird bug where my camera twitches around uncontrollably when i am in the dark biome (tierras olvidadas) or at home for example. anywhere where there are either big trees or when i am inside a house. i tried to record it with the windows recording software but it doesn't happen while i record. when i stop the recording the twitching happens again but not during the recording. also this didn't happen on my main pc. i am playing on my laptop right now, so not sure what is causing this odd problem

Utilizing an Xbox Elite controller with remapped controls (through the PC), I've realized that none of this mapping translates into Dreamlight Valley like it does for other games. Unsure if this is currently a bug or something not implemented yet.

Issue: ps4 controller that was working perfectly fine for the first weeks playing now gives me issues with the R2 button, instead of opening the tool menu without any issues, the menu starts blinking on and off all the time, I checked out the controller back on my ps4 and in other games on pc and it's working but not in this game.

I also got issues in the menu scrolling through the list of anything, ingredients and critters for example where the controls just lose the control and when selecting an item or animal it starts drifting over any other items but the one I want to.

Issue: 3rd party controllers not working at all. I have tried 3 different 3rd party controllers but none of them work. The only one that I have been able to get to work is a Microsoft branded Xbox One controller but it died earlier.

I have one controller that can work in both DirectInput and Xinput modes but that one doesn't even work in either mode and that's my fall back if any of my others fail. This issue affects both wired and wireless (bluetooth) 3rd party controllers.
I know the controllers are good because they work with every other game I have on my PC except for this one.

Description: Sometimes after entering the menu, my A button becomes unresponsive (cannot select items in chest, can't save or exit the game, etc)
I was able to fix this after fully restarting the game, but the issue comes back after a while, which is beyond frustrating...

Occasionally my avatar will freeze, and I wont be able to open the menu. I can still rotate my camera and look around, but in order to get motion back I have to ALT + F4 out of it. I don't normally lose too much progress this way, it's just a minor inconvenience.

Issue: Game runs at full 60+fps in most zones/areas.
FPS will drop after roughly 10 minutes of play, primarily in the main areas of the valley (Plaza/Beach/etc.)
Temporarily fixable by reloading my game. (return to menu/continue).

Changing the graphics/settings has no effect on FPS. It remains low regardless of if I'm playing on Ultra or Low/Low Resolution.

I'm on a GTX 1060/8GB RAM, Max Settings.

Playing the PS5 version of the game. The 'X' button isn't working at all to interact with things in the world. Strangely clicking the PS button to pull up the pop-up menu and then closing it was invoking the 'X' button. Closing down the game and restarting the system seemed to help resolve it.

Issue: My character will just randomly keep running or going in a circle or it freezes and I cannot use the controls at all. Definitely not the controller as we tried 2 here at home and even bought a new one and are still having the same issue. It happens every few minutes and is very frustrating.

Randomly, screen begins spinning around my character or, if on map, pulls in one direction. I can Alt-Tab, then click and it stops spinning/shows mouse again on map but will begin to happen again at random times. Can play long sessions w/o it happening, or can load and have it happen continuously.

Issue: Cannot exit Ursula's lair unless I hit the windows button. All keys stop working and do not function until the exit is forced through pushing the windows button then my character finishes successfully exiting as normal.

Do you have a dock that lets you use an ethernet cable? If so I recommend that. I notice a difference when using that vs not.

Persistent online connectivity is what's causing frame-rate drops on my computer. When offline, game runs smoothly at all times. When online, eventually my game will start to lag, and the only fix is to return to the title screen and start it back up. I hope this is something that can be optimized in the future or maybe allow offline play and only connect when necessary? The game doesn't seem to really require a persistent connection outside of tracking the star path events.

It's still a little less than when completely offline, but I figured out my issue was a vpn software on my computer running in the background. My frame-rate is much more stable. If anyone runs into the same issue as me, uninstall any vpn that creates a network on your computer (ie: RadminVPN), and make sure you are only connected via a single source (ethernet or wifi, not both.). It’s like a virus and slowly spreads to every interaction until the game is unplayable and I have to restart in order to be able to use the button again, it’s quite frustrating because I don’t like having to sit through the loading screen again lol.

Some keyboard keybinds (esc, U, T as far as I've noticed) do not work unless my controller is plugged in and a joystick is moved or a button pressed (thus the game registering a controller is connected). After this, KB keybinds work fine again, but UI still shows some controller elements such as Y button for furniture menu, menu button for menu, right arrow for dreamlight menu... etc.

Edit: issue completely resolves itself when all HID game controller drivers are removed from PC.

Issue: If game is minimized or laptop lid is closed, the controller will no longer work after returning to the game. I have tried unplugging and plugging the controller back in, resetting it, etc. I have to completely close the game and restart to get the controller working again.

Yet another update to this. Turns out the VPN was not the issue. The game simply runs better when it's offline. Something about the persistent connection is causing frame-rate issues for me and I can't determine the source or a permanent fix.

Issue: For the second time today none of my buttons are working as expected. I can't save the game at all because I can't access that part of the menu. The only button I can use is the tool button and I'm stuck on the camera. I can't save I can't quit I can't do anything besides hit that button in the home button. It's just in the game My controller works normal when I go to the PS menu it works. So it's in the game.

Issue: when in collections tab it scrolls to the bottom of the memories. I can't move back to the side to change which collection I'm trying to go to. It's not a Joy Con issue, I've tested it with a pro controller as well and the issue persists. It's frustrating when I'm trying to check friendships levels or critters.

Let me get this straight.

If a person changes the date/time on their device when DDLV is completely closed and makes sure to put the time and date back on auto before opening DDLV (so NO time travel inside DDLV), the game STILL knows you changed the date in your device when it wasn’t running during the time travel?

Like DDLV is ALWAYS WATCHING (insert Roz voice).

This is seriously big brother violations of our privacy.

I am completely on board with no time traveling inside the game. I haven’t and I won’t.

But I should be able to use my device as I see fit on other games without fear it will destroy my DDLV game.

I should also be entitled to my privacy on my switch. GameLoft has no right to spy on my device while the game is closed. Frankly I don’t care for the spying when the game is open either but this is a serious violation of our privacy.

That’s some concerning big brother monitoring.

I have now figured out that the autorun problem is associated with switching controllers on the xbox. I have one controller charging via usb and playing on the other. When I get a battery warning I switch controllers leaving the weak one to charge. I startup the new controller and get problems with controller getting locked in forward position in DLV until restart.

The A(Select) button doesn't work when in dialogue with someone or in any menu. When I Alt+tab out or hit windows key while in a menu, the button works again. Have to do it everytime though

Character was in middle of quest; closed game, came back and instead of her popping up in front of her house like usual, she's still in middle of the quest (taking a photo) but most of the controls aren't working. Can't move her or the camera. Can't change which tool she's using. The only buttons that work are the X and + buttons; she can fast travel but then she's just stuck somewhere else. Controllers work fine for other games on Switch. Have closed and restarted several times but no change.

Time in game is not syncing to my console. I’ve tried on both switch and Xbox and it is not changing the time in my game to the current time in my location. I’ve tried changing the time and also making sure it was correct. It still will not reflect the current time.

Issue- Always having an issue with my Xbox controller using it on my game. I start the game and try to use my controller. My character just starts to walk on they're own. I have to start using the direction pads and circles to refocus the character to get the controller working properly. This started when I first got the game.

Platform: PS4 Issue: (Not entirely sure what category this issue falls under so I put it here) I can’t use the “Collection” menu tab. Every time I open it, as shown, it scrolls all the way to the bottom of memories by itself and doesn’t let my scroll up or to the side. The joystick works for everything else but the controls go wonky in the Collections menu

Issue: Pressing “Hide UI” on switch does not hide the white square edge. (It hides most of the UI, but this square is terrible. It’s the biggest part of the UI.)

When you're in the settings menu on nintendo switch, it no longer allows you to move cursor to the right with the analog stick

I play on a Steam Deck with a pro controller and for some reason, my character refuses to run at full speed forwards. Backwards and sideways it runs fine but forward it can only go at a leisurely walk. I've been able to manage by plugging in my controller and playing wired but it doesn't seem to be a controller issue because my other games work fine wireless
