[ARCHIVED] Mother Gothel - Restoring the Sunstone.

After you plant the Gleaming Dusk Fragment in the Forgotten Lands and water it, you are suppose to it to bring to Mother Gothel. However, the quest immediately says "Bring the Gleaming Dusk Fragment to Mother Gothel" even though the fragment is not ready.

From current reports and testing, the fragment takes roughly 24 hours to grow. During this time, water the fragment!!! It will show that the fragment is watered already - WATER IT ANYWAY. It needs to be watered but it doesn't indicate that. Eventually if you water it enough it will be ready like any other planted object. See the picture attached for what it will look like when it's ready!

Would like to update that it took a little less than 24 hours for mine to grow. I watered it a few times regardless of it having water droplets. Worked out all good!

Rule of thumb, guys: always follow the quest instructions exactly. Don't jump ahead. I know some people reading this might think "I wish I knew that earlier" but at least now you know for future quests.

And, have every necessary ingredient or building material in your actual bag before cooking or crafting. If it takes from storage it won’t count the item as complete sadly.

With every single cooking and diy recipe I triple check im holding everything I need in my pockets even if it got checked off on the quick quest guide (go into main quest guide to see amounts). Not doing so can cause irreparable damage in this quest and the Elsa one, at least. It causes a huge issue in Minnie’s clock because you have to go back and recollect all that stuff. Triple check! Read every line and count! Don’t let it take something from storage to complete!

So you unfortunately can't continue that quest until they fix the problem then. You should report it in #1019676691603402792 to be sure though. Also for future reference, always have the ingredients for the quest item in your inventory before cooking/crafting, not storage.

Yes, unfortunately if you don’t have all the items in your inventory and craft a quest diy or recipe, this can happen. You won’t be able to move past until there is a fix. Please report this under the proper channel in bugs.

Is this quest impacted by time travel? I moved and changed my Xbox time zone accordingly and have seen people saying time travel really breaks the game, it wasn’t intentional but it happened and the morning fragment is not spawning for me

Moving isn't, or at least shouldn't be, the same as time travel. As long as your system time and local time match, you should be good. BUT seeing as this is an early access game, you may have to at least wait until both times match anyway.

So, I've read everything about the "Gleaming Dusk Fragment" and I know we have to wait roughly 24h.
My question is, I planted it on Friday next to my pumpkins and watered it several times (everytime I watered the pumpkins) and it still isn't ready.

time travel breaks the game as technically its kinda an exploit to get things done faster - if things do not work in the game and you use time travel then there is currently no way to fix it at this time

as long as you planted it in the forgotten lands it will take a full 24 hours to grow from the time you planted it so if you planted it at 6pm then you would have to wait till 6pm next day - I didnt have to water mine either

I don't know what to say about that. You know that it looks like a daily dig spot, like in the above picture, right? And when it's ready to harvest it doesn't "sprout" like a plant, but you do get the same "harvest" prompt that you get with plants.

The Forest of Valor fragment is only available from 3PM to 11PM. Make sure to look thoroughly. For me, it spawned near ||Kristoff and Anna's house.||

If you still can't find it, I would advise that you report the issue 😊

You don't technically "dig" it up even under normal circumstances (you don't need the shovel). Just keep watering it even if it doesn't look dry, and it should hopefully still work. It would normally take 48 hours if watered regularly.

the more you water it the less time you have to wait.

That's because it's not a crop - just remember where you planted it. If you water it like you should, which is every few hours or so, it takes 24 hours. It may not look dry even if it is, so just go up and water it just because even if it doesn't look like it.

Mine took 24 hours real time to grow. I watered it 3 times and it rained once. Every time it showed water drops on an invisible item but I watered it just in case anyway.

I tried using the regular miracle elixir in the watering can but it did not seem to work.

My partner has done this, and dug it back up where it's 'the sparkle from the dusk fragment is almost blinding'. HOWEVER, the quest log still shows the same step of 'tend to the dusk fragment until it is restored'

You tried all the regular troubleshooting ideas? You dropped it in the forest and picked it back up, tried putting it in storage and taking it out, put it in Wall-es realm fridge then went back to you Valley then came back and retrieved it? If none of these work trying doing each again, but after removing it from your inventory, save and close out the game completely and maybe even clear your console cache and power off you console completely before going back in game and picking the fragment up again.

Ahh… your wording made me think you had it. Then try the cache clearing and powering down console completely, then look for it again at the appropriate time. Remember, the fragment spawn times are now off by an hour because of daylight savings.

@dusky crow The times are heckin' chaotic right now. It's not just DST, they were off before that. Several of us found our morning shards at like 2am and our evening shards at 3pm. So honestly? Just keep looking in all the spots in all the biomes whenever it crosses your brain. Remember that they may not be there the whole window time, but they will spawn during it. Or should....
