Switch users encounter various crashes during play.

Status Update
Improvements are being made to reduce the frequency of crashes on Switch. While this is not expected to eliminate them entirely at the moment, it will improve the Switch gameplay experience and additional updates are planned to deploy further improvements and fixes.

I keep having crashes on switch even after the update. Its mostly after a quest right after i finish i open a menu of quests or map and then it crashes

+2; both my wife and I are still experiencing regular crashes on Switch. Possibly related to large garden sizes and/or rain (VFX and/or object count)? "Seems like" it's more likely to crash when plants are in the process of going from "watered" to "ready to harvest".

Weather - especially thunder and lightning, but also heavy rain causes severe lag that eventually turns into a crash - but if you stand still for a bit to let the game "catch up", it's possible to stretch play time between crashes a little bit.

This seems to of gotten MUCH worse for me since last update not better sadly. I haven't even expanded much in entities so there's no in game reason for the change I can find. Crashes most picking up the special drops, when watering and opening menus. Occasionally when trying to talk to characters about missions

Yeah it was better at first since the patch for me, but now it might be worse. Usually caused by fast traveling or coming in and out of buildings

my game freezes every time I open the map - I can access all the other tabs, but once I hit that tab it shows my character bubble and the well by the big castle, nothing else. Then it freezes and I cannot click B to exit or access any other tabs, I have to do a hard reset to my game. 😦

My game also keeps crashing when entering/exiting buildings, especially if I'm hanging out with someone. It crashed right now because I was hanging out with Remy and I had to go into his restaurant for one of his quests..

I'm also wondering about the blue chests issue on the switch. I was not able to open blue chests most days before the patch, so now I'm "behind" on blue chests (because you can only open one each day). I don't know if the blue chest issue is fully resolved yet?

It seems for me to be 30mins is the limits lasts before crashes but can happen anywhere from 5 minuets to the 30. Normally in-between the two. I also found when went to close app it crashes which to me makes no sense as was already on menu so I.so really confused why that's happening.

Loaded my game and within 10mins it crashed again. This is absolutely crazy. I'm so glad I'm fortunate enough to have multiple platforms can access this game on as the switch version is starting to become unplayable compared to just the annoyance it was. I know my game is now quite a bit more asset/entity heavy but still, given relased on switch and payed even in Early Access I'd expect better. Which is a shame as I love the game minus a few issues and when works properly easily steals my time away from animal crossing

I've only had 1 crash since the update. The game had been really smooth for me. Dunno if it helps but I do restart my switch every morning. I also did clear my switches cache after the update. As well as checking for corrupt data.

In the last 12 hours, my game has crashed 18 times. It’s also SUPER laggy. I think the two things might be related. It’s worse when it’s raining, and sometimes the music stutters. But even right now, it’s just sunset. Nothing else is going on, and the FPS are baaaad.

But I keep losing all my quest items because the game didn’t have a chance to save. It’s a bummer that I spent $70 on this game and it’s having so many issues. Like, I know they’ll get fixed. But still 🥺

@river storm that really sucks. Especially given had to pay for access. I personally like/ agree with the early access model for games but I have never played an Early Access where its issues are just running not finding the odd but and occasionally a crash if do something that the games code doesn't like. This seems very different and it paying to be a QA tester not for early access.

I do all that too @misty imp yet is still crashing every 10-30mins on average, glad helped you but its definitely not a fix for all sadly. 🤔

Also what @snow rapids said about about music is very true. I noticed that often you can feel a good minuet before the game crashes that it's coming if played through enough of them.

Same @median meadow. The indoor/outdoor change is causing a ton of crashed. Seems that exiting is mostly the issue so when the game has to load in outside entities.

Crashes are very frequent still and more random than before the patch.

The only predictable crashes are entering or leaving a building especially Scrooge.

Random complete freezing of the entire game is frequent and new since the patch. The only input that processes is swivel of the over world camera angle. No other buttons or input work. If you force close the game says it crashed.

My game has crashed over 10 times today alone, normally when it rains, on entering new section, talking to characters, especially when being asked to do a new quest. It crashes everytime Elsa asks for help on cooking quest. Also mickey gets stuck and head butts rocks when he is helping digging and you have to stop him helping to release him.

Oh yes, characters getting stuck. That’s new since the patch too. I have to bump into characters to get them unstuck from random scenery like rocks. Kristoff got himself stuck in between ice and rocks while I was mining- when I was done I looked for him and bumped into him to get him moving. He released all of the bonus items at once from several mining nodes.

Prior to the update, the game crashed once every couple of days. After the update, the game crashes about every 5-10 minutes of play. Also the lag has gotten much worse.

I can’t figure out where to post this so I’ll post it here since I’m on switch. The bugs keep getting me stuck on quests. I’ve been stuck in the Elsa ice caves quest for days. She keeps saying I didn’t clear all the ice when I did. I’m now stuck on Dawn shard with Mother Goethel. I used ingredients I already had in my inventory without “gathering” them first and the Dawn shard is already remade but it keeps telling me to remake it, but I don’t have another Dawn shard for the recipe. I’ve also emailed the support twice with no answer in like two weeks. They literally do not answer.

I’m having an issue where my controller is moving my character across the screen when I am not touching my controller. This happens in all menus as well. I have tried changing joycons, playing on the TV and handheld mode, turning the switch on and off, and restarting the game. None of these things have fixed the issue and the game is unplayable.

After the patch, I am now crashing more frequently than before. I crash multiple times while playing, and it can go anywhere from roaming about the land to coming out of my home, it looks totally random. It has been crashing at a average of about 5 times daily I'd say, sometimes more. My Nintendo switch hasn't had other issues with other games and is fairly new. Thank you!

My game has crashed whilst completing Moana's lvl10 quest. I placed the leader stones on the plinth outside my house and she was still asking me to gather the items to create it. I closed and reopened and now my game is completely stuck. I can move through the game options but can't move my character or continue the game

Are you able to press Y to take a picture? Maybe it's locking you there because of that and since everyone is posing it might think the camera is on.

My game just crashed by picking up a yellow memory while taking tomatoes and it was raining. Edit: i got the memory it was there when i opened the game but i never got the orange one back when i got my first crash while cooking in my house

So new discovery with switch. I created second game with different user profile on switch. Well one of the moonstone chests appeared in my valley and with that profile not being linked to an online Nintendo account I can’t receive them which is fine. What’s not fine is I can’t do anything with the chest! Can’t move it, put it in storage, nothing. I even waited a day to see if it’d disappear after 24 hours but it didn’t. 😭😭 hoping this can be fixed eventually where profiles not linked online don’t get the chests at all. Or can at the very least move them.

Might need to shelve the game for a bit—since the update my game is crashing MUCH more frequently, and the lag makes it completely unplayable at times. This would be ok if I could access my cloud save on other platforms—but apparently we have to purchase an early access game for each platform, making cloud save somewhat pointless for the EA phase. Has anyone had success with decreasing lag by removing some gardening space? The more I progress, the worse the lag seems to get…which is a bit of a bummer considering upgrading, decorating, and acquiring items is a huge part of the game. I’m fully understanding of EA and happy to give devs the time they need to sort it out, but I think a lot of players are on switch after coming over from playing ACNH and it’s going to be the main platform for a lot of players.

Crashes on switch have been numerous since the game was released, but lately, each time you open the menu, more precisely the map, it bugs. Unable to return, forced to close the game and restarted.
It's frustrating, especially if you haven't had time to save.

This concerns safes to put at home. I put food in a chest, I wanted to remove it so I could move it to another room, but the chest just disappeared, along with its contents. I had to rebuild a safe to be able to access my food again.

If I am not gardening I feel like the game runs more smoothly. I'm at the point where I think the game needs a restart after doing too many quests or progressing too much in one session. You can kind of "feel" the crash coming with music skipping and some random lag. I don't harvest more than 100 crops at a time now and that seemed to help, more than 100 and doing other things really puts it through its paces.

I can harvest 99 crops as long as it's not raining. If it's raining, i just turn off the game because the game just can't handle it. I tend to just set aside my Switch for 5 min after i harvest a lot to give it a chance to autosave. But if it's raining then i just go play something else and check on it later because it's crashed with me just walking in the rain

Other people were getting this bug to, but they deleted the original post for organization I think... Not sure how to report this one but it is far more "crashy" than usual today, and very sluggish (planting flowers there is a 5-10 second delay between plots the character moves to). Restarted a few times and still the same.

Edit/update: I synced my switch clock to internet instead of manually. This not only fixed this problem, but also fixed the issue I was having not connecting to cloud and not being able to open blue chests!

After completing the chasing the wind quest, I was told to welcome Anna. Then my game got stuck and I wasn’t able to walk. I closed game, restarted and I’m stuck here. I can’t walk or access any buttons. I want to delete the game and re- download, but I’ve never been able to save to the in game cloud server either. So if I delete, will my progress be saved? It’s saved to the Nintendo switch cloud supposedly

Switch crashing - some insight/things I've noticed:

current set up is a docked Switch with a Nintento brand Pro Controller

1. Moving things around in chests - when presented with any amount of delay, pressing any button and/or moving the joycon will cause the game to crash.

2. Item spawn rates in Meadow and Plaza seem to contribute to lag and crashing - this is where the most amount of items are spawning for me.

2.A. Removing all bushes that drop branches, manually moving flowers around so they are spread out throughout the map have helped reduce excess spawning and lag.

3. Planting large amounts of crops - 10x10 areas cause planting delay, but 5x5 areas seem to be much smoother. Do not put them too close together - I have four 5x5 with 20 tiles between them, which has drastically reduced planting/harvesting delay

Major bug I'm experiencing: when I scroll down a list (any list, like when crafting or in Collection tab) it just freezes and won't let me go further. I can back out without the game crashing but it's annoying if I need to go to the bottom of a List anywhere in game and can't. Please fix!

Something to keep in mind is that this is in Early Access. That means that bugginess is part of the deal because this is effectively their UAT. Unless you were part of the betas for animal crossing or stardew valley, it’s reasonable that you did not experience these issues. I’m playing another game in Early Access and it’s actually super cool seeing how it has developed and stabilized over time. Just have a little patience and the devs will start to make the tweaks you’re looking for.

I sometimes have to force quit my game because I get stuck on the map page but nothing loads… it’s just an empty map and I can’t click out of it or anything. It happens about 1-2x a day.

My game crashed right after taking the group photo at the end of Goofy's scrapbook quest. Now, when I load in, it loads to the moment right before the photo. If I take the photo, it crashes. If I wait, the photo overlay goes away and everyone is still posed non responsive. I can't move. I can't pull up my tools to try and take the picture again and move the quest forward. I tried saving again and loading back in. No luck. I can get into my inventory but that doesn't help. I can teleport to wells, but I'm just stuck standing there with a fixed camera. Obviously I now can't play the game at all until this is fixed.

Scrolling down on the furniture tab isn’t possible when in your house for some reason. Workaround is to go through individual sections, but definitely if viewing all, this has stopped functioning.

I agree, my game has sadly got worst after the update. I know its been reported, but to clarify I will go into the map to use the fast travel feature, and it will not let me click on the well to fast travel. If I then come out of the map and go back in the map it is no longer visible and it crashes. I then have to close down the game and restart. This same process happened FIVE times yesterday and it making the game very difficult. For those with the same issue I'm not currently using fast travel and it seems to have stopped the bug/crash so far but very annoying having to walk everywhere 😫

I have been playing the game for 4 days and here are some of the crashes I have noticed on switch (sorry if was already reported) : when the game is left open but with switch in suspension mode for a few hours, it freezes (about 2+ hours was the average time) when you finish a mission or have been talking to a character about a mission and had some progress; when you enter in map mode, sometimes it stops being possible to select characters to follow or wells to fasttravel to; and the last one that happen to me just now, my right controller/joycon stopped being recognized by the game, even though is being recognized by all the other games in switch. This happened for no apparent reason, I had a tool selected, was pressing Y to mine and there was no action, tried to open the menu with (-) to see if it was just from that action and nothing from the right joycon is being recognized, left one has no problems (restarting the game didn't solve it, restarting the switch did it)

Sadly the crashes are so so frequent now, 4 times in one hour this morning, it’s worse since update. I know we’re in beta, but the servers need to be much much bigger to allow us to play to find glitches! And now it’s started totally freezing and cannot get out of the game! Dunno what’s worse really! Please please fix the servers and cloud save that’s not syncing unless you manually do it.

Please keep in mind this game is in its EARLY ACCESS form. This is NOT a fully made launched game yet and we are merely like Beta Testers. It's GOING to have bugs and as beta testers we are to report them to help the developers for when it is fully launched in 2023 to the rest of the public.

I think for some people who have never done beta testing or early access (like me), the phrase "early access" sounds like the game will have some bugs and glitches and needs work, but is at least playable. So then it's a shock when the game crashes all the time. I'm totally fine with it being unfinished and I'm happy to report bugs, but the only bug i know of now is that it crashes constantly. I can't give much more constructive feedback than that bc i can barely play it. I would be ok with the occasional crash that i could document and report but this is more than that. I think a lot of us expected it to at least be more stable and to be ready for people to search for bugs and issues. I just don't think that having a negative attitude toward people who didn't expect all the crashing is helpful. We all want to help this be a great game

I played all day today (9:30am to 9:00pm) and only had that one crash during spam digging. My Switch isn't even a year old yet so could be bc it's still fairly new and is always docked.

Other thing is I don't Garden either (unless required by quest - plant only 40) mostly just lvl people, unlock biomes, decorate and that's it. Haven't even unlocked ursala yet but all my characters are max friendship. So unsure why my game hardly crashes after patch when so many others say theirs crash every minute.

i agree there is a big difference between early access and beta testing - you dont charge up to 80 dollars for a game thats still in beta ... early access it is understanable there will be bugs but crashing that makes the game unplayable is just unacceptable ... now i understand things happen but they need to push an update ASAP because i like this game too much and its rediculous how much time ive lost becasue this game doesnt auto save like animal crossing does

Autosave is every 5 minutes, but there has been a suggestion for every minute!

I tend to save after every decorating, every quest turn in, and before every quest turn in just incase the game feels like undoing my last 5 mins. Lol

The crashes have greatly reduced with the patch on my Switch though. As stated My switch isn't a year old yet so how new it is might contribute, idk though.

That's fair, and I'm glad you're having a good experience with it. I'm playing on a Switch Lite that's probably 2 years old and I've got everyone unlocked. I feel like the crashes got worse with each person i unlocked, and it probably doesn't help that i was growing 99 each of pumpkins, okra, and canola 😅 I've temporarily stopped farming to see if it makes a difference but can't do anything about already having 17 villagers. Unsure if it's been pointed out along with the crashes, but my wife and I (both playing on switch) have noticed that there is a precursor to the crashes that occurs, audio starts getting choppy, then losing sections of audio entirely, followed up by a crash. Just hoping that helps whoever is taking a look into things!

Noticing a lot of my crashing happens around furniture placement. Either in the furniture menu or right after saving and exiting the furniture placement. When it happens after saving and exiting, it doesn't actually save the changes that were made.

I have a 100 plot garden (I knew to keep it somewhat small because of others experiences) on an OG Switch. I have crashes (about 1 every hour) but I force a save every few minutes. I've been lucky to complete all quests. The music does stutter especially during a heavy storm. I know to keep it slow...don't try to fast click through menus etc. When moving furniture/buildings take it slow and save often.

SWITCH CRASHES are nearing unbearable level, even for early release. It is almost entirely unplayable. What playtime I do have is spent saving every 2 minutes, and reloading the game when it inevitably crashes.
It WAS tolerable, once or twice a day, then once an hour. Now, it’s every 5-10 minutes.
It’s not like I even have the entire game unlocked. I have Remy realm only, and he’s the only additional character I’ve added. I’ve opened the Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust & Frozen Heights.
There’s LOTS more game to unlock currently, but I’m concerned that it will worsen the crash frequency.
Gameloft, PLEASE address switch stability soon. At this point I definitely do not recommend this early-access game on switch. I may try PC, but that requires another entire purchase.

Mine was crashing a crap time the update seemed to have made it slightly better but that changed now it's even worse than it was before update it seems like I literally crashed a couple minutes of playing the last three times I logged on. I played from 10-3 I thought this would help the team out on the crash numbers I had six the first during decorating second after decorating then going to save third when saving after crafting fourth when leaving home to go to new area to dig fifth going to water after leaving house and sixth after I hit save and chose return to home screen it software closed I hope this helps also it kept having serious lag issues

Yeah I have had 10 crashes more or less most the time I crash is when I go to Ming menu where you collect your memories or go to the maps or go to save your game. Other than that I've had some crashes when leaving my home after doing stuff or just plain walking around.

Sometimes, even though I'm most definitely hooked up to the Internet, hardwired even, the game seems to think I'm not online. Just keep trying to connect. It should eventually work. My son had the same issue to, and he's on the switch lite. It did work after a couple of tries. Have you done the save to cloud through the settings→help menu in game?

Dude these crashes are awful. This game doesn't save nearly often enough. I'm so tired of leveling up characters to go back in game after a crash and find that progress lost.

My game crashes roughly once per hour. I've been playing long enough now that I can pretty much predict when it's going to happen. I don't think it's linked to any specific activity, area of the game, player action taken, etc. I think the game is just generally becoming unstable over time, with gradually accumulating issues overloading the console's memory, which then causes an instant crash when the player tries to view inventory or the quest/collectibles/etc information screen. The only other common crash happens if you spend too long in the "landscaping mode" and make too many changes to the map without exiting and saving often enough. If you take too long or make too many changes, the game crashes when you try to exit back to gameplay mode.

Unlike a lot of others on this thread I haven't been too fussed about the hourly crashes. The game saves very frequently and there are no randomised events relying on luck that get cancelled by a crash. Whenever I've found a new memory orb, if the game crashes soon afterwards I always get the same orb again when I repeat the actions I took just before crashing. The only crashes that have annoyed me are ones that happen right after I spend a while rearranging things on the map, since remembering and repeating those actions can be a big hassle.

Yeah, but I'm not allowed to open more than one per day it seems, while at the same time one new blue chest spawns every day. So I'm still behind on the blue chests. at this time, i don't think we have a time frame. could be a while since the developers have to figure out the root cause of the crashes as they seem to be caused by anything. at that point it could be just the switch system itself not capable of keeping up with the game, which the developer has no control over

There are still a lot of crashes in the game for the Nintendo switch system which is starting to be unbearable to be able to play quietly without saving every 1 minute to not lose the protection.

I noticed when I plant fruits or vegetables when they are at a stage of harvest, the game crashes often even too often. Then there are other crashes that come like that when there is no reason.

Please, for the next update, try to fix the problem, it would be less unbearable to play. While the game is beautiful. (French player)

Basically, when I first load in the game and I see that it’s laggy, I turn around and go back into my house for a minute and then when I come out, the graphics are all caught up (even in the rain)

I’ve done this all week, and I think I’ve crashed maybe three times as opposed to last week where i crashed like every thirty minutes, and I have a newborn so I play for like 12 hours a day 😅

i do strongly believe that the developers are reading this, it's just trying to figure out what is causing the issues that's the problem. as i have said in other posts, because of how widely different the crashes seem to occur (instead of everyone saying just one thing causes it) i'm wondering if it's now falling to a console problem not being strong enough to handle the game

I think they may look at things generally but they don't respond here. If you experience game breaking crashes and need a response you'd want to file an official ticket to be sure they've received official notice of your issue. They are likely looking to do more patches but I've heard such variability among switch users from no crashes to crashes every 10 minutes. So it's pinpointing what causes those to happen for some and not for others.

I don't know if my issue relates to crash. I play handheld on switch lite, since there are no pause button in game so I would just turn off the screen when I have to do something else for a few minutes. Can’t seem to decorate much, whenever i leave the build menu it takes a while on the loading screen then crashes. I’m able to play if i save after every few changes but even sometimes i don’t save quick enough

I’ve noticed that if I exit the menu from the Events or Dreamlight tabs, I can access the menu again without crashing, which allows me to save often. Autosave is unsafe, so I try to save on my own. I think those two tabs are easy to load, so it doesn’t crash the game when accessing.

I've started to notice a crash on my switch, the longer I play, the more likely it is to happen. The game begins to stutter, dropping a lot of frame rates I'd guess... then when changing maps, especially going into my house it crashes. Restarting the game, I usually start back with those frame rates dropped. Doing a full restart of my machine does seem to help. What probably doesn't help my situation is that I play in handheld mode for chunks of 15-20 mins before putting it down to give my eyes a break, letting the screen lock then have to unlock it all over again. I usually have started getting a lot of pauses in the game when this happens, especially if I close it on.a menu.

Yes, that sure is odd. I just hope they are able to get error stats/logs from Nintendo, so they can solve these issues either way. I wonder if the game is supposed to autosave every 5 minutes anyway? I've found that it doesn't really work that way on my end - when I go to save manually because of major lag issues, the timer for autosaves says it's been 7 minutes or more since last save.

I rarely go 5 minutes without a save, though sometimes it does say "now" when I go to save so I'm unsure if it's starting to do more autosaves. My sister says she has never lost progress when her switch crashes but I've lost items and stuff that happened right before a crash.

I usually will go to manually save before it's been 5 minutes since the last save, but when the lag is really bad you can't move through the menu that quickly, so the timer moves past the 7 minute mark before I get there 😅 I also lose a fair bit of progress and items for each crash. It's super annoying when you are grinding for things like hardwood, and you have been going for an hour trying to get enough - and when you finally do, the game crashes on you. I would say that now, after 3 weeks (ish) of gameplay, having to save manually every 5 minutes or less to not lose any progress/items doesn't make for a good gaming experience to me..

Oh that's odd. I'd send in an official ticket about it. You should be able to play in airplane mode entirely, I've been able to anyways. Unless the game was trying to update or something it shouldn't connect to the internet for a sustained connection.

While I was doing The Ritual Quest for Ursula, I placed the plant outside the cave and then the game is supposed to open your camera, however my game crashed at this point. When I logged back in, it says to “Watch Ursula’s Spell” for the task. I tried removing and replacing the plant but I still can’t get it to trigger the spell in order to finish the quest.

It seems the frequency of crashing is increasing since the patch. It crashes almost every time I try to decorate inside or out. i'm still curious if this is a game issue or a system issue. the crashes all seem to be random things, instead of just one or two things (like just opening chests crashes the game or harvesting massive amounts of crops) but with so many random things... i just feel like the switch is not strong enough to handle the game. which sucks, because so many have paid money for the game and they can't play it. what's worse is, that this game may for many fall to the wayside once november comes around. in one month, i will have 3 new games to play, which hopefully won't be this bad, one of which is for the switch. the odds of me picking this game back up after november is slim to none

Finally started playing around with customizing clothing but it has made my game crash over 6 times today! I can't get 10 minutes into customizing a dress before it crashes, does anyone else have this issue while customizing specifically?.

This started happening today for the first time after I was done editing my village, and went to closeout to save it, kept flickering and wouldn’t save or stop doing that until I had to close the game restarted and start the editing all over again. Because next year is months away. The crashes have not gotten better. They have increased in frequency and the experience in the game is getting worse, not better so far. The PC (any other platform really) does not have issues at this rate. If waiting until next year was an acceptable solution, people wouldn't be commenting lol. It was simply a suggestion since Switch users have been particularly given the shortest stick. As of October 2022, the game is not free and you cannot play on multiple platforms after buying the game once. As of October 2022, you must purchase the game again to play on a different platform. 2023 is not today. 2023 price doesn't offer a solution for right now. The reality is it is CURRENTLY a paid product. We deserve to play the content we purchased, if the Switch can't handle it then let us chose another option(platform/console) in the mean time.

If the Switch can't handle the game, stop selling it on that platform until it can. It feels dishonest and bluntly scammy to have the same price for 10% of the experience all other platforms get. Have had minimal issues playing on the switch but since last night the game has become unplayable due to lag and frame rate.

Have restarted the switch multiple times, have no crops growing and no decorations. Just character homes and buildings.

You have to shut down the game in the switch homescreen. 2 times the game freezes and you only can shut it down in the switch homescreen. Ingame menu was not accessible. ..

I’ve noticed that if the harvestable plants aren’t bouncing, the game is much more stable. I wish that was an element you could turn off permanently. I have learned after you go outside and ur plants become that bouncing effect. If you go back in, then out again, they won’t bounce and the game is easier to play.

I've gotten that egg screen twice. Crashes OK it's a beta. Waiting until they release the next update before distributing the patch is not acceptable for such an expensive beta. To make it even worse is that it may not be fixed at least that we see. Imagine if they fix it but the update breaks it again. I finished the game (but for the first time have gamers thumb most likely from the constant repetitive nature of repeating things over and over due to crashes. I will go in one more time because I forgot to manually save to cloud when I finished and then I won't touch it again until I see here that it's not crashing. I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but i'm stuck on Donald's Dreamlight fountain quest. I originally completed the quest but my game crashed and now i'm stuck on celebrate the new fountain because it won't trigger it. I did move the fountain first time because i could't fit the ribbon in because i had a farm plot in, but I've moved it back hoping it might trigger the quest but it hasn't. I've tried deleting and replacing the fountain but i can't delete and replace the ribbon. I don't know what to do anymore, is there a work around this or am i forever stuck on this quest?

There is a stuck quest category but sounds like you are going to have to rebuild the fountain. When you have the craft something quests the crafting is part of the trigger. When I was stuck with Scrooge and the flower pots the last fix gave me new flowerpots (I had even tried to make my own but apparently they are coded differently then the one's Scrooge gives you.). I would go to the crafting station and see if the fountain is still there. If it is I would gather the ingredients and make another.

I’ve had crashes on switch I just got the game and I have had only a few but it’s super laggy and sometimes doesn’t fully load or will randomly turn my camera to the sky the reset back on me by itself I love this game so far but the lagging is annoying 🙄 also I’ve had issue with my tools not working right like my water can doesn’t work on removing mushrooms like Merlin showed me after the quest 🤷‍♀️ these glitches and lagging are definitely making it harder to play.

For those who play ACNH, I was not in sync with time since I was playing ACNH, then I started to play Dreamlight valley. The game worked but nothing would re-spawn, basically it wouldn’t until the time catches up with the time my switch was when I time traveled in ACNH. I just reset the dream valley game.

I will be walking in the open world and the game will crash, menus lag really bad and often crash the game. Audio/music lags really bad and delayed sound effects (its not even raining)

I had two crashes/freezes when playing yesterday.

First one was the game froze (could only move camera around no other buttons functional) after breaking a rock near the meadow entrance from the plaza.

I play 10+ hours a day and my Switch crashes randomly, sometimes every 30 minutes or so. Crashes happen when entering and existing my house and when I open the game menu. I try to save frequently, but opening the game menu to save can trigger a freeze so I say a prayer 🙏 and hope for the best each time.

I'm also crashing about once an hour. I do not have any super large farm plots. Most of my crashes are opening the backpack or quest menu. Sometimes I also crash when picking up a memory and it starts trying to load it, then crash. I'd assume it's trying to open the memory section of the menu and would be similar to the quest menu crashing, Hopeful this gets better with the upcoming update

So I had a major thunderstorm yesterday. It was raining for at least +5hrs. I pushed the power button to put it to sleep came back to it like 3 hrs later and this happened it frozen on me but music and rain sounds were still there. Then I put it to sleep again (same method). honestly, you have the right to be angry. you spent money on something that you can't even use, especially if you got the 70 usd version. and it's been over a month since the last update that was "supposed" to fix the crashes. yes there's a new update coming in three days, but there's still no guarantee that it will solve the switch crashing issue.

Crashes on the switch has made it unplayable. I log in and move for a minute and it crashes. I restarted my switch, logged in, ran to Mickey's house and when I entered it crashed. Using the furniture menu is impossible without crashing the game, as soon as I press B to exit the game stops responding.
There is also this weird bug with my crops, if I plant them when it’s raining it shows them as watered, but they don’t grow and as soon as it stops raining it shows them dried and wouldn’t start counting the growth time without me watering them

Luckily i kept my expectations super low for this, but come on. Stringing us along for weeks and then the performance issues aren't even fixed? I can't even get into the game because of connectivity issues. I would suggest that instead of holding all the "fixes" and lumping them in with content updates, maybe release a series of dedicated patches to fix issues so you can see how the game responds to each change you make.
