As far as i have seen many games that offer modren conflicts have been blowing up well the base game don't offer such but many mods do and that's one way to make it work that way.
Certain conflicts can be Middle East, Alaska, EU, Asia or SEA.
Most of the hotspots can be seen widely around the major one that's building up is US vs Iran, this could potentially attract many western players and also Eastren players, There's many gamers from Asia but those are mostly SEA countries such Conflict could be China vs Taiwan or Japan vs China or Philippines, also India has majority gamers and streamers pulling up India vs China or India vs Afghanistan also one of good move.
Why am i talking about it ! Well we saw how the game blew up at Ukraine vs Russia when others Game Devs totally negatively looked at OHD mods talking about how this isn't good for the gaming communities but short after they applied the same with their mods.
Why need for blowing up ? One may think i am talking about getting more players ! Well of course i am but i am talking about more people playing the game and more polishing that can be done with feedback ! The more the feedback the better OHD can be optimized accordingly.
I hope my suggestion was over and through, feel free if you want to add something let that be pros or cons. 🫡

Using ongoing conflicts for player attraction is really not right. The real gain are players that will play the game for what it is, not because it features ongoing conflict from the news. Those temporary gains would likely just vanish to other games, driven by fashion instead of actual interest in certain gameplay.

It’s epic to play ongoing conflict in game, but the amazement wears off and it really comes to game quality and depth to do the heavy lifting.
