#How I Imagine a medical system overhaul

Hello @brittle raptor.
I saw your youtube poll and I think that there is not enough choices.
Thats why I decided to post this full-scale suggestion.
I took inspiration from Tactical Trauma mod.

I would like to combine
Consumeable items + Healer class + UI-based healing.
Anyway, good luck reading all of what I've described below heh

PART 1
CONDITIONS & TREATMENTS

There should be several conditions caused by explosions, bullets and shrapnel, etc:

Puncture wound:
A wound made by a bullet or a shrapnel that makes you bleed.
Consecuence: bleeding
Treatment: Bandage & Gauze;

Broken limb:
Bone fracture caused by a fall or a nearby explosion or a powerful round.
Consequence:
[Legs] If 1 leg hit, makes you move in "crouch" position until healed.
If 2 legs are broken, makes you move in a prone position constantly.
Prevents sprinting or jumping even after healing by keeping your stamina
low constantly.

[Arms] If an arm is hit, makes your
Rifle sway much more, makes you unable to vault.
Treatment: Splint

Bleeding / bloodloss

Loss of blood caused by a wound. Fatal if untreated. You have 5 liters of blood total.
Consequence:
Drains your stamina. If you loose more than 2 liters, you fall unconscious. Then you die.

Treatment: Tourniquet on limb, Bandage & Gauze on other body part.
IV bags.

Unconsciousness / knock out -
state caused by
A shock, brain trauma, or bloodloss.
Condition:
If your character has 1 of these, he is knocked out:
-Less than 3 liters of blood
-All 4 limbs broken

Consequence: Your character turns into a ragdoll. your screen is almost fully darkened, your hearing is muffled.

Treatment:
Blood refill +
Healing broken legs + Morphine

Critical organ hit:
If your head or upper torso gets hit, you die.very fast do to the organ damage
Consecuence: Drops your blood level to the point, that when fall unconsious almost immidietly and die.

PART 2
HEALING ITEMS

First aid kit:
Every soldier is given 1 kit
Each one contains 3 tourniquet, 3 bandage & gauze.

Medic bag:
Contains (disscussable amount ) of
-Splints
-Morphine
-IV bags
-Bandage and gauze


Tourniquet / bandage:
Stops bleeding

Splint:
Fixes broken limbs, allowing limited usage

Morphine/stimulator
Relieves pain for certain time. However, cannot fix the damage.
(Removes character, sobbing, panting, and redness on the screen + supression blur cause you're high as fuck)

IV bag:
Restores amount of fluid in your system. (Refills lost blood)

PART 3
UI AND INVENTORY

FIRST AID:

  1. equip
  2. lmb to open Ui
  3. use cursor to inspect damaged body parts
  4. choose and apply treatment

Medic bag

  1. equip
  2. Lmb to throw on the ground.
    Rmb to use on anybody or yourself.
    F to pickup as medic / use for everyone else.
  3. other than that, works like an advanced first aid

PART 4
ANIMATIONS (optional)
Upon interacting with a first aid,
unzip animation could play.
Then different animations could play, depending on used item:

tourniquet:
Pull out a tourniquet from bag, rip the package, apply.

bandage:
Pull out a bandage roll, apply

morphine / IV Bag
Pull out a syringe/bag, inject in arm

You've got it.

PART 5
Player Carry

I think medics should be able to carry unconscious people.
Medics could press Crouch + F to pick up a player

How do I know that the player is unconscious and not dead?
Maybe a dot or a red cross could be seen above an unconsious player.

Also would be cool if we could heal and carry enemies, just like geneva convention intended.

Alr guys I've cooked enough.
This is how I see a medical system that would be
Interesting, Realistic, Immersive and Hardcore.
The tactical trauma mod is a great base. I hope to see it in the base game.

I think a medic system like Arma Reforger has would be better because it's simple and still has some cool features

Might be too complex for new players might scare them off

Maybe something like squad would be better

A version of Reforger's system would be cool. Barring that and instead implementing Squad's system, I would at least make it so that you can only be revived once. Otherwise you end up with Squad's revive spam situation which can get pretty silly.

Making headshots not revivable would also be nice. I think Post Scriptum does this.. Makes aiming precisely in an ambush more of a strategic decision!
