Make Sniper Rifles Stagger Players, more ammo per mag, mabye make
damage more universal for limbs, less damage mabye, longer stagger
also make scopes accurate to the actual drop off, lower drop off substantially-, and mabye rework how scopes work cause they just feel really clunky in the current stages👍

yeah, my almost sole gripe with the game currently -- I tried multiple times to use SVD when playing modded faction, it really stuck out that SR/DMR class weapons need a fix, even when Im able to hit ppl, its just not really working and Im consistently failing to catch the way how its supposed to be played, and while not very skilled, Im rather experienced FPS/TPS player

defintiely just the general learning the ropes improvements, but also not just change the sniper class, its also a matter of balancing infantry and how they are used in a match, its not fun to use a sniper class when theres no benefit to doing so, rather than just running in with an ak, ive even found myself sniping with aks more effectively than the latter, mabye marksman rifles of sorts could be more effective, like 50 beowulf or something, because in my opinion, in a run of infantry, you might get like 5 kills on average per life, but then on sniper it just feels like you get 1 shot, rechamber, and then theyre gone, which would be fine if headshots were consistent, but they simply arent, no serious issues because snipers can simply be avoided if you dont want to use it, but I feel it could certainly find its place eventually,

thing is -- I do Want to try and play SR every now and then, but currently its just not working(

The main thing is that there will be a medical overhaul incoming, it will not be forever based on the current damage hit points/numerical health system

#

So more complex injuries, bleeding, staggering, etc. would develop which should make anything that shoots a heavier hitting cartridge feel much better

#

Right now all the ballistics afaik are based on the real values, it only gives the impression of more drop because none of the weapons are zeroed to any distance it seems, and I'm not sure if the BDC reticles (like in the PSO) are properly sized to be useable yet (nevermind that they also would need to be zeroed to a set distance first to work, as mentioned earlier)

If they just add steady aim it will be worth it

my thoughts- Stagger is iffy, id think it would be all or none for all guns, not just the sniper. different damage values for body parts is a great idea but i think this is already in to an extent, will have to test further and comeback but i do know torso is 2+ and head shots are guaranteed 1 shot kill. The bullet drop is a bit excessive, but to properly depict it they would have to get the ballistics specs for each weapon system and implement them individually, its not impossibly by any means but you could see why devs arent sprinting to hop in it atm. The scopes are jank AF when it comes to auctually sniping, the lack of ability to steady the scope even temporarily makes spray and prey far more viable unfortunately. in terms of the scopes looks and uses, it seems they are continuing to improve them per thier weapon set up and they all imo look pretty good.
(JUST NEED TEMP STEADY AIM ❤️ plz devs i beg <3!!!!)

The likely reason they want it is due to both sway as well as DPS/fire delay time, rifles and SMG's are just better where the DMR is nice for the scope. There is also body part damage.

Stagger helps a bit with follow up shots, but yes, actual 0 stagger on all other weapons would seem inconsistent. As stated a medical system may help with that, but with the short TTK I think it may be overshadowed by just dying to normal damage similar to WW3's armor system.

In WW3 the armor system as it exists is interesting, but because it's fairly easy to just mag dump and kill there is only a subtle if not borderline imperceptible difference in TTK making choice feel somewhat pointless.

I have some thoughts in mind to help with gun balance in a mod and think I will have similar overshadow issues even when using an average TTK twice as long as the current one in core and going much longer ends up moving too far away from the intended gunplay pacing.

Regardless, I think after years of watching games trying to balance weapons against one another it almost always leads to issues and it's time to try new stuff.

My sole issue is, that current place of SRs makes it so, that you're having no 1-shot-headshots, and with current system and behavior of said weapon class(the mechanics of Optics included), I after playing multitude of other games find Snipers more frustrating than anything at any noticeable range, and anywhere closer you'd either dont see the enemy, or have better luck at trying to tap them with AR

I see, then maybe it was issue with specific mod, but to me there was so much "ehhh" when trying to hit my shots from any distance where it was really useful compared to AR or something, that I just gave up in frustration

Like at visibly long range its turning into huge pain to get a good grip how to adjust your aim to compensate for trajectory and stuff, and shorter distance its either too close to be actually good with it, or Im having better luck trying to bodyshot someone

# hardy urchin I'm not sure, it could even be server issues, keep an eye on it, maybe even grab...

I was playing with one specific mod the time I was trying to hit things with Snipers, on maps where there's a huge hill or something, making it a clear long-shot there was issue of hitting things that far away (ie that map with huge-ass cathedral full of ww2 German stockpiles), or in other cases me being consistently really bad out of it when trying to find a grip how to actually use anything Sniper, and this lack of ability to find a pattern it follows was that one thing which been main issue for me so much

Sorry for my bit broken English, literally had hard times when been learning languages the proper way, then picked it up on my own with PC and Enternet 😅😅

Also, thinking back to it, maybe check out with AI if adding option to have steadier aim when pressing a button that will automatically deactivate after some time makes a difference?

The sway pattern is pretty quick in all cases and I'm guessing they will rework that to work alongside stamina and player movement. One of the issues with scope steady in many games is that it's just a quick button press, however, it could still work by being conditional based on time held and be that stamina/speed tradeoff of committing to the shot while standing still.
