Polygonal Warfare Vietnam is a low poly mod for Operation Harsh Doorstop. It is a subsection of the Polygonal Warfare series that I might do if this becomes a success regarding getting everything to work. Most of this mod is in its concept phase, and will be worked upon when I can. Here's the rundown of what to expect for the 0.1.0 release:

  • 2 factions (US Army and PAVN)
  • 1 map centered around infantry (Skirmish at Ia Drang)
  • Weapons (M16A1, M1911, M60, RPD, AK47, and TT33)

Objects will be built from the ground up to live up to the low poly theming (with inspiration from games like RS2 Vietnam and Battlefield Vietnam), or probably ported over with a texture rework from EoD, a mod for BF1942 to fit with the theme.

What to expect for the future of this mod (long term goals):

  • 3 other factions (ARVN, NLF, and ANZAC)
  • More weapons (M79, M72 LAW, L1A1 SLR, etc.)
  • More maps (Long Tan, Quang Tri, etc.)
  • Vehicle implementation (when I can get around to it).
  • Remakes of maps from other games (Probably)

Progress will be shared in this channel when I find the time to do this, as all of this is on concept phase rn.

I know I said AK47 would be included, but I decided to replace it with the Type 56, which is seen more commonly compared to the other AKs in the family of AKs in Vietnam (correct me if I'm wrong). The weapon itself is now complete in terms of the model.

Other models I had lying around a while ago that I may use for this mod.

I may get a few people on board to help me with this project. Currently I am trying to get a character mesh into the game but it is absolute pain trying to do that.

#

It's unrelated to PWV, but it's essential.

I really love low poly games, and I was hoping to see someone starting this kind of project.
I love the graphics of games like "Deadpoly" or "Polygon" (but I don't like grass and trees of this one, as they are not low poly style).
Wish you good luck with the project!
