as far as i know that will be up to server moderators on a per server basis
we intend on creating and offering a vote system at some point for server owners that might not have the time to actively admin. its obviously not the most ideal solution, but it will allow for a lot more people to get servers up without having to micromanage things if that is what their hold up is in the first place.
and this will be an optional system of course, obviously a community with active admins is always going to be more ideal and not as exploitable as a vote system that can be abused.
i dont really know what he means by licenses though
but ya we have covered all of the server admin tool suite plans pretty extensively in the #📰devblogs actually months and months ago
While it is up to the server imo, public vote kick can end up with noobs kicking pros or vice versa, and I don't personally like either situation, nor do I think it helps servers grow, but maybe other people who have ran servers have a different opinion on that
The topic becomes extensive, but assuming actual fair play, kicking someone for either playing too well, or not playing well enough resembles some kind of weird monarchy or something- "you can't be better than me but you can't slack either" ...like wtf??? Lol.
It's a tough one, it was common to have noob server lobbies, but if they were the most active, then you end up with better players playing there, so I think team balancing comes into play, but hey, now it's even harder to design for 😆
One vote system that might work is voluntary team switching, where the lobby asks for players to help their team, and they can agree, but also give the option to put it up to a lobby majority vote - there are always pros and cons
@crimson mango i agree that its not an ideal option for a server, but i do feel that if you want to run a server and cant be there all the time or have a super dedicated admin team that its definitely better than nothing. yes, its abusable, but thats not necessarily what happens 100% of the time, and in my experience most of the time it is usually fine and the community will vote properly.
