Yes I know ninja ripper exists, but I don’t have enough money for that. Is there any other ways to rip files?

There is a free version of NinjaRipper on GameBanana; it's 1.7 to the paid's 2...something right now, but it should get you started.

Otherwise, you'll need to specify what game you're trying to rip from before anyone can tell you what to use. Some games have utilities for them already made, some games are made with Unity and you can use AssetStudio or AssetRipper, some are made with Unreal and you can use UModel or FModel to get at them...it's all gonna depend on what game you're trying to get into.

Disneyland adventures, if I am able to get the game
Disney magic kingdoms
Snoopy vs the red baron.

Disneyland Adventures has a Cobra Engine tool available here: https://github.com/OpenNaja/cobra-tools/issues/55

Disney Magic Kingdom has a thread with what appears to be a working extractor and tutorial here: https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-35676.html?highlight=Disney+magic+kingdoms

I couldn't find anything for Snoopy, but it has two models ripped on the resource, so you might send a PM to the user who uploaded them and ask if they could tell you how they did it.

I've pulled out the OVL files from the game Disneyland Adventures. Trying to open the files with the tool results in a ton of list index out of range and Error -3 while decompressing data: inva...

Then you'll need to find a way to do so, or open a bug on the GitHub, or offer more information than that. I don't know how it works, I never used it, but I can tell you that "Isn't letting me access" without a screenshot of the error/an error log isn't going to get you much help!

Honestly? Poke around, play around with the thing/the tools you can get. Either you'll find a way that works, or you'll find the myriad ways that don't. It's the best way to learn.

What that means is you don't have access to that folder. There are various ways to gain admin access (to your own computer MS what the everloving--) but if they don't work, copy the folder to your desktop, and point the utility at the copy instead of the main folder. If that doesn't work I truly have nothing for you.

GOOD NEWS I GOT ACCESS

#

BUT

#

where do I find windows apps in noesis?

celest pollen

Noesis doesn't have a "Windows App" Plug-in, per-se. You'll need to find a plug-in specifically for the DMK model format. I know it's doable to get them out and working, I've seen them on DeviantArt, but beyond that nada. I'm running W7, not W10+, so I don't know where you'd go from here beyond get these things into noesis/blender, proceed accordingly. You might try opening them in Noesis all the same, maybe the format is generic enough it'll take them straight out of the box /shrug!/

ok good news I am using game extractor

#

Plus where do you usually send models you extract?

celest pollen

Any particular game extractor will act differently, but they'll usually create a folder titled "export" or something similar in the folder with the extractor itself where the exported assets end up.

As for where to send them, I...do not understand what you're getting at. If you mean submit to TMR, there's rules for that on the submission page. If you mean where they ended up on your computer after extraction, check your extractor folder or your desktop. If you convert them using Noesis, Noesis will create the new file in the same folder as the original model.

then again, check the folder where you put the extractor for an "export" or similarly titled folder, or the extractor might ask where you want to save them and they'll end up there, or watch the extractor work and see where it saves them. I always extract into the folder with the extractor when I'm using utilities like this, but your system may vary so check everywhere.

It'd be best to keep everything in one place, yes. Create an export folder and then tell the extractor to save the extracted assets there. Something like C > Users > Desktop > Extractor > export so you can find the things when it's done.

How do I do that in game extractor?
