#Project Luna - A Sailor Moon fan game

First, reposting some things from the thread on the forums. We have the sprites for Usagi and Queen Serenity:
Some screenshots of the opening splash and the completed (as of right now) system windows:
And finally, the music box version of Moonlight Densetsu and the battle theme that I sequenced:
👀 Now this looks interesting. Is it a continuation of Another Story? or is it retelling other sailor moon events?
I'm delving a little into headcanon on how the Moon Kingdom came to be and all that, and I'm not sure yet where I'll go from there.
I may do the story of Sailor Moon in its entirety, or I may do an original story.
But the first part alone should be some length, so I have plenty of time to decide.
:0
so that means the focus might not even be on the senshi as we know??? 👀
ok actually. a plot about like an "old guard" sailor senshi from like, postwar Japan would actually be pretty sick. but that's probably not at all what this is about. lol
No XD
actually, knowing very little about sailor moon, an "old guard" of senshi would probably be from like centuries prior
(since celestial kingdom stuff probably spans hundreds of years, anyway)
...why was my text red.
Yeah, we're not really given a sense of time for how old the Moon Kingdom was, outside of "they lived a long time", so it's really open for interpretation.
lol Discord plz
...omg tfw you get a song that isn't supposed to loop to loop perfectly.
I need to test it in RPG Maker, but I'll share in a second.
If you have software that supports looping .ogg files (like RPG Maker does), you'll be able to hear it play an intro, play through the main part, and then loop back to the main part without playing the intro again.
New screenshots! Got the opening done, time to map out the Moon Kingdom.
Realized while mapping out the Moon Kingdom that my sprite template of choice didn't fit right with anything I was mapping. S O ! Switching to RMMZ's default sprite template. Yaaaaay...
tbh I rather find out this early in development, rather than later.
Sprites so far are fixed. Back to mapping.
At least by using the default template, this opens me up to more sprites I can use.
Some zoomed out, in editor shots of the maps I've been working on.
Minus enemy data (which I'm waiting on until I set aside time to make the character battle sprites), the starting area is finished.
Also debating having enemies on map like Chrono Trigger, or just doing random encounters.
Random encounters are easy but annoying, enemies on map means I need to do more sprite work, but it looks nicer.
knowing me I'll probably go with the harder option
I didn't forget about this! Here are some screenshots of the story so far.
