#"Semi-Realistic" Quilava

hm. but i don't understand the tools you used enough to give adequate feedback. but i think the best thing i can say is that yeah while the fur looks nice, its unfortunately made the model look uncanny. the fire effects also look hand drawn which clashes with the "semi realistic" aesthetic you seem to be going with.
Yeah, I know. I can't necessarily do Photorealistic Fire for Blender, 'cause I tried something, it didn't work for me. Sorry to say.
well perhaps you can find a workaround.
perhaps you could try adding some texture or fur here as well.
the way you have it now makes Quilava look like it has a plastic shell on its belly.
It's supposed to be the skin. Also, I added the Musgrave Texture for the "Bump" technique. Should make it a tad more photorealistic. But I do agree, Skin isn't meant to shine.
Fixed the Skin Texture. Should be better.
its a little better, but i feel like now you've gotta figure out a way to make the fur mesh with the skin better.
Would a gradient texture work?
Kind of have the hair blend in with length?
I’m ou know how hair maps go from black to white, with white being the tallest hair and black being bald
I imagine you could use a gradient to ease it
I'm not an expert at CGI, so... I don't know what to do at this hour. LOL
