#I'm new around here! Help me understand what's going on!

A few thoughts for new users:
RUNNING YOUR OWN WALLET:
You're in 100% control of the wallet application. This means that you are responsible for maintaining your internet connection (uptime connected to the Pulsar network of peers), power to your machine, and unlocking your wallet after computer updates or a reboot. Also, you are responsible for upgrading your wallet when there is a future version update to the wallet. An internet outage, power loss, or failure to unlock your wallet for staking means you will not be able to earn PoS rewards. The console command to unlock your wallet is: walletpassphrase "<PW>" 94608000 true. In addition, your wallet balance influences how often you receive a staking reward. A wallet that has less coin will not receive PoS rewards as often as a wallet with a higher balance. Depending on your balance, it could be hours, days, weeks, or months before receiving a full block reward.
Running the Pulsar wallet application on your own machine also means being responsible for creating and storing a copy of the wallet.dat file for safe keeping. In the event of hard drive failure or computer theft, it will be possible to restore your wallet using the backup copy of wallet.dat. Failure to keep a backup copy of wallet.dat means being exposed to the risk of losing your coins forever. You may make a backup copy and save wallet.dat to a USB thumb drive or to some other form of secure storage. Remembering your password to your wallet.dat is your personal responsibility alone.
RUNNING THE DISCORD WALLET:
The discord wallet for Pulsar was introduced as a way for people to earn staking rewards along a predictable time frequency. When any discord wallet participant finds a PoS block, the reward is shared among everyone else participating in the discord wallet -- according to every individual's % share in the pool. People with more coin staked in the discord wallet will earn more because these people find blocks more often (due to their higher balance). People with a lower balance will also be rewarded, however, their payout will likewise reflect their contributed staking balance % of the pool. Rewards to people with a low balance begin as some fractional value and can increase depending on buying more coin from an exchange or receiving +tip and +rain rewards from others. Do the +stake command to move coin from your working balance to your staking.
The discord wallet also allows for people to send coins to one another through unique +tip and +rain commands when you execute the commands in the correct discord channel. Special events, reinforcement for good behavior, charitable contribution, sarcasm, and testing are a few reasons why users send coins to one another. Tipping and raining in order to receive or give coins is a feature not found in the computer application of the Pulsar wallet at this time.
A special database is used to keep track of PulsarCoin circulation in the discord wallet; the amount of coin inside your discord wallet address +b will differ from the amount of coin that explorer.pulsarcoin.org reports for your discord wallet address, so do not panic if you see coins leaving your discord wallet address when seen on the explorer. Because the discord wallet is shared among many users, like staking rewards in the discord wallet are shared among many users, the explorer will likely show incorrect information. Doing the +b command in the correct discord channel will show your correct balance instead.
PoW MINING:
It is possible to send rewards from PoW work to your discord wallet as well as to your computer application wallet. When sending PoW rewards, please set your pool payout threshold to at least 100 PLSR in order to reduce many transfers of smaller values. This will save the database from getting hit too often, and it's just the polite thing to do.
DISCORD BEHAVIOR:
We encourage you to interact with the bot in a direct message. In the public channel, personal balance inquires +b, history readouts +history, and deposit address +d inquries are there for all to see (and remember). While it is possible to do certain commands in the public channel, it will be next to impossible to participate in phrase or emoji events because the channel will be scrolling too fast to see them in the first place. Additionally, doing these commands in the public channel usually interferes with the flow of banter and conversation among users; conducting your Pulsar business privately with the bot in a DM protects your privacy and keeps a historical log for your own metrics.
