Dont understand atlases

you can only use textures from the same atlas in your item model

you've probably added your texture to the wrong atlas

can you share your atlas file

normally you add your texture files to the block atlas even if they are actually items

most default minecraft textures are in the block atlas

hmm ok where did you put that texture?
