The speed at which Caretaker can climb the stairs beside the pilothouse seems to be inversely proportional to the speed at which the boat is moving:
- when the boat is at rest, the rate seems to be 'normal' as it was before
- with the boat moving at (up to) full speed on electricity only, the is a small, but noticeable drop in the climbing rate
- with the boat moving at full speed when running on both electricity and diesel, the stair climbing rate is reduced to a crawl (as though Caretkaer was overladen and walking with only 25% mobility)
Is this by design (i.e. the faster you are going, the more careful you need to be on the stairs) or is this a bug?
[edit] I've also now noticed that, if you stop on the stairs (before you reach the top) you will be propelled backwards, gently, down the stairs to the bottom! And, if you try to stand on the second to top step facing down, you are, again, propelled down the stairs.
And there's more ... this behaviour also happens (both the going up and going down issues) on the stairs down into the machine room,[/edit]
