I've moved the main ship around, I'm fully stopped & anchored. It's heavy seas which aren't helping but it still should have come loose by now. I get into position to grab the end of the mooring cable off the back of the ship but it won't let me grab it. The icon never changes to the grab symbol.

I had a similar issue early on, but that was resolved with save/reload. It appeared that the 'hitbox' for the mooring connected had moved slightly into the boat, so I had to grab it from inside the boat.
Alternatively, you can also grab the 'jetski-end' of the mooring cable to release it (just we can do with the mooring cable on the boat, so we don't have to do it from the dock).
