Just thinking out loud with all the excessive iron copper plastic rubber you end up with, you could add metal pipes to permanently connect stuff. It could be an answer to use all the extra materials and create a physics free connection to some things. I think you’d still need the cables, but being able to add sections of hard pipe could be useful and make them static objects like other stuff that’s built.
