#Allow distillation towers (or something else) to process diesel into petrol

That is, if we're not getting new options to consume diesel. When tanks are full of diesel, the distillation tower stops making petrol. The only solution is dumping fuel onto the floor or into the ocean to continue processing.

As a gamer working hard on a complex oil site, it feels bad.

It would be nice if we could feed a distillation tower diesel, in which case it would output only petrol. I know you can't produce only petrol from one stage of processing, but it's my understanding (from a cursory google, so, grain of salt) that you CAN process diesel into petrol-grade fuels.

I don't mind the 1/10 inefficiency, it just feels bad dumping it on the floor. Like, I'm a government robot, aren't I supposed to be OSHA-compliant?

I think the game diverges in 1969 and OSHA shows up in 1971

Okay, I don't want any of your rational arguments. I want to be correct, always. 😒

I thought diesel was oil cracked into a crude hydrocarbon, petrol was cracked into a more refined version, and aviation fuel even more refined.

So the distillation tower could produce all the above with a slider, or have diesel consumed to make petrol with the appropriate button.
