#How does pebble host make any serious profit of their $1/GB mc servers?

We, like most companies use huge economies of scale to drive down the cost of almost everything and optimize the way every single process in our business operates.
If you've ever used budget airlines in Europe, you'll be familiar with how they use the same principles to provide flights for 50% or less of the regular cost.
They use things like newer planes to improve fuel economy, thinner seats with no reclining, no checked baggage to avoid having to pay to use the airports systems, generally using the stairs instead of the airbridge, fully online check-ins to reduce staff on the front desk.
Correct, the core server is still the same.
Sticking with the airlines, you still get from your source airport to your destination.
We do have deals and slightly different configurations than what's listed right now as we tend to take advantage of sales and get some occasional bulk discounts direct from OVH themselves.
As an example, quite a few of the older hosts force you to open a ticket to restore a backup from their system. This requires you to interact with staff and have a staff member sit there, confirm they can restore the backup for you and then actually restore it.
Not only does this waste your time but through the price of their service you're paying for that staff member's time.
Instead, we allow you to restore backups in the panel, by yourself fully automatically.
It's not something we tend to disclose
It's not something I can go into anymore details about the specifics of how the backend works
Nah, I've already shared quite a bit! Especially as it looks like you might be one of our competitors soon! 😄
