Meet with me
You in amsterdam?
Lets do it, I'm already meeting a couple people from the community there
Depends on the exact dates and time, lol.
I come from all the way down in the Netherlands
(Limburg, close to Maastricht)
15th to 20th
Hmmm, might have hole in there somewhere.
seems awfully expensive for 5 days
Half of it gets taken by flight and hotel both on the cheap end too
go to the new bike garage
Link?
[Ep. 972] Amsterdam opened a new bicycle parking garage beneath the water of the port in front of Amsterdam Centraal Station. More information in the blog post: https://bicycledutch.wordpress.com/?p=24156
I can't ride a bike
Current Plans
Meet 2-3 people I know online
Coffeeshop
Canals
Rijksmuseum
Van Gogh Museum
Anne Frank's House
Albert Cuyp Market
Going to try and go to a few other cities as well
Amsterdam you also have an museum where you can see dead people organs and stuff also muscles and how the whole system looks inside of the body
It's called bodyworld
Visit the must-see exhibition BODY WORLDS Amsterdam and discover the secrets of the human body through real anatomic models!
But thats me just curious about the human body and stuff. I loved it!
Possibly
If you wanna take a break from Amsterdam, as a Dutch citizen myself I can recommend going to Rotterdam (more American-style city, personal key locations are the Erasmusbrug and Markthal), The Hague (politics stuff like the Binnenhof) and Utrecht (Domtoren and their nice canals).
Planning to go to Hague and Utrecht, was also looking into Rotterdam
By chance do you know any events such as music festivals or concerts going on around the time I'm there to visit. I know Metallica will be there a week after I leave
nice
what kind of stuff are you in to?
Just about anything besides anything
Usually Skiddle is good for finding events in the uk but find very few events in amsterdam listed on it
This is what I could find so far: https://www.ticketmaster.nl/muziek/alle-muziek/10001/events?datestart=2023-04-15&language=en-us
ty
no worries :)
leave
red light district
It seems cheap af to me
My Japan trip in September is like 4,000 for 15 days 💀
1.6K just in the flight
Y'all just don't know how to plan good holidays
Plan me a holiday to Amsterdam akash
I'm hoping to go to Japan in november aswell, just depends if one of my irl friends gets invited for an international beatbox tournament in Tokyo 👀
Sure what dates?
My favourite thing is holiday planning icl

@vocal tiger If I were you, I'd first of all avoid the flights. Schiphol airport is like a warzone and isn't fun at all. You'd end up wasting a day there, where in reality that could be spent elsewhere
Yeah it isn't the best atm
hmm?
Starting April 15 will be there for 5 or 9 days depending on how much money I feel like spending
Alright, then in my opinion I'd get an inter-railing pass, which means you can go from London to anywhere in Europe under one cost. Then tickets between countries are like 20 euros.
Alternatively, just get a Eurostar ticket and go from London to Amsterdam in 4 hours.
I'm nowhere near London need to see how much a flight to London is
Heathrow? Gatwick?which is best for getting the train to Amsterdam
Wait where are you located again haha?
I thought you were in London
But or doesn't matter if you go to London or not. The pass also covers UK trains.
Does that include Scotland
Aberdeen
Aberdeen to Amsterdam would be 40 euros extra, including the pass it's 300 total.
Having done inter railing before, it's stupidly fun, and a great way to see Europe.
If you really wanted to, you could go Amsterdam to Bulgaria for 18 euros extra
More expensive than a flight 👀
I'd still look into it, as it allows you to go home earlier if you want, or stay longer
Won't be able to stay longer due to work
Ah gotcha
Is the pass for a year
No
How long is the pass for
Depends on the pass
A 5, 7, 10 day pass will last a month, and you can use it any time within the month. Longer day passes will last up to 2 months
So you can stay in the city if you want.
4 days in a month is 160eur
Probably end up be cheaper than a flight including the Aberdeen train
Was it 40 to Amsterdam and back or 80 including return
40 each way
It's basically a Railcard with heavy heavy discounts
Would be 18 hr train each way
Sounds worse than it is
Would probably be a sleeper train in that case
