Angelic Alliance 5-hero-affinity-bonus not applying?

I activated 1/5 of the elemental affinity bonus (+2% elemental damage dealt) today.
I was expecting a significant boost in damage on my vortex team as I run a team with 5 radiance characters using Angelic Alliance. Based on the despriction the damage bonus for the whole team should increase from 7,25 to 14,5%.
I did several runs with the exact same team as yesterday (without the 5-hero-affinity), no change of equipment or talents and it only improved from 639 million to 653 million, which is about the difference I would exspect from the 2% elemental damage bonus alone. This doesnt even take into consideration that the damage reduction bonus granted by the artifact should also increase vom 7,25 to 14,5%, resulting in the team surviving longer, which should further increase the damage dealt as my team doesnt survive till the end completely.

Or am I missing something? Does the 1/5 not count as activating a 5-hero affinity yet? The combat preparation screen looks like it does activate (see screenshot).
Or is the full artifact bonus active even before you activate the first 5-hero-affinity bonus in the psychicore as long as you have a team that has 5 members of the same affinity? So that activating it doesnt grant an additional effect?

Thank you for looking into it. Could you clarify, what condition activates the higher artifact-bonus? The team with 5 heroes of the same affinity or the 5 hero-team with activated 5-hero-affinity in the psychicore?

The higher artifact bonus is activated when you have 5 heroes with the same Elemental Affinity, as shown in your screenshot where the 5-hero Elemental Affinity is already active.

Please note that the damage increase is calculated multiplicatively. For example, after activating the 5-hero Elemental Affinity (with the artifact at max level), the calculation would be: 10% × (1 + 50%).

Does this "affinity activation" happen regardless of progress in psychichore-tree as i assume? (No artifact had that before, it always was just the ON FIELD heroes)
