#pressure of playing every day

In my opinion, the big problem is that the game requires you to play absolutely every day. Regardless of what's going on in your personal life. It's cruel. I have a good account and I'm always in the top 10 or top 20, both in Vortex and in all competitions. I only didn't play for four days. I finished the season ranked 93rd. It's like slavery. I'm losing respect for the game's creators. Even in real life and at work, you can take a break and not lose everything. Why is that in DH? Because there are too many points for Vortex and too few for the competitions, except for the final boss. Losing several thousand points by missing a few days at Vortex is impossible to make up.

What would your suggestion be then?

Show me any game with ranking that doesnt punish a leave or skip...

And i dotn see a suggestion there, just a complaint

Another valid concern raised by a player just shouted down

The point is that the daily routine is an important strategy for ftp and low spenders to keep up with the whales. It’s not only the single damage numbers but also endurance and perseverance that get rewarded by daily login. And that seasonal ranking is based on the overall performance throughout the whole season (meaning every day of the season) is just logical.

#

Nevertheless I can imagine a kind of "holiday mode" that fulfills basic actions at low level, e.g. the commissions for alliance progress, but of course out of competition.

Is there a game with an active community that doesnt need players to engage with the game DAILY?
IF yes, please name the games.

It's not that hard to solve. Instead of forcing you to do daily activity every day. They might replace it with tokens, for example:
You get 1 vortex token everyday with a maximum limit of 7. Then you have vortex from each day (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun) and you can submit you score for any chosen day, then rewards for each day are claimed after 7 days, so you would always have 6-7 days to submit score.

Entire game progress and status would remain the same with 1 exception, that you would got you rewards after 7 days instead 1 day.

Arenas/Continental Challanges ect, are not a big deal as you don't have to do it every day - you already have like 3 days at minimum.

PS. From my experience if you would have to play once a week, people would argue about same thing, as then they will be missing "a week" instead of "a day". I guess It's matter of discipline at the end.

All competetive players would play without any changes - everyday. I just have explaind how it could be solved for guys above in this chat.

The other way to do the token would be, you get a token whenever you don't attempt vortex. And only useable for vortex with that modifier. Once vortex. Modifier resets. The tokens reset

My take is this - missing a day is punishing. However, regardless of what is happening in your personal life, people who can and do devote time to playing every day should be rewarded as such.

I don't think that people who miss days should be rewarded as much as people who don't miss days. That includes family emergencies or whatever else... It's just a part of life.

#

I do recognize it as a problem though, how punishing it is to miss a day or two so my suggestion is this -

Rather than implementing things that allow people to "catch up" and compete with daily players, it would be better if the experience for more casual players or people who miss days is more rewarding.

#

There's another thread suggesting this but the general idea is you should still feel like you are competing for something rewarding if you miss days, but you should NOT expect to be competitive with top spots if you miss days.

#

It is designed intentionally to be punishing for missing days... I see no reason why that shouldn't be the case.

#

You can argue that it is TOO punishing, which I agree with though.

But like the difference in rank rewards currently are not really worth the stress if feeling like you are missing out. Top 50 to top 20 is what... 2 scrolls? Am avatar frame?

#

Like even if your excuse is I got shot in the face and my dog died and my town got blown up... It is what it is... Better luck next season.

#

And the logical reason is simple - maybe that guy in top 1 also got shot in the face and still logged in to play.

#

One thing that can be done and is technically possible is settling Vortex score at the end of a season...

#

And by that I mean there is no daily ranking rewards but there is a TOTAL dmg ranking reward at the end of a season

#

Daily dmg will be recorded and you can see daily/overall rank

#

So if you are top 1 and consistently do 300m more dmg than 2nd place then if you miss a day or two the difference in DMG will still keep you #1 overall

#

This would encourage minmaxing too as currently there's no incentive. Why push for 700m when 500m keeps you in top 20.

No I am not claiming that... I am saying that the guy who does play in spite of being seriously injured deserves more rewards than the guy who doesn't play when he is seriously injured

#

That's how life and competition works

#

I don't prioritize the game when I have more urgent irl things... But I am also not gonna expect to out rank the guy who does no life the game and play inspite irl stuff

#

But as I suggested if they were to do Vortex settlement at the end of a season based on total DMG done then that would be a simple and easy to solution to this problem
