The traveler is supposed to be the protagonist in the story and yet becomes almost invisible in most of the game content. Some suggestions to make him/her on back to the team again:

  1. Skill revamp and unique talents - incorporate his/her abilities such as stealing, charming the enemy into his/her skill or talent. For example he can steal weapon/armor/runes from the enemy during the battle to weaken the enemy, as well as extra loot after the battle, or charm the enemy to turn on the others or drop out of battle temperately.

  2. Basic attributes enhance stats - higher strength give bonus to attack stat, higher intelligence gives more bonus when applying effect, higher dex gives bonus to attack speed or skill speed, etc.

  3. Race modifier - human being average, drawf have bonus while crafting items, elves has higher base endurance, etc. Also special bonus when construct teams with same race, such as all elven team, all human team, all lizards team, etc.

I hope it’s gonna happen but it’s never gonna happen. Why not? Because main hero is free. Other heroes cost money. Money moves the game and the company.

But the Character should be able to progress, with talents, skins, upgrades (purchasable) etc, what’s not to like from a monetisation POV

If a f2p option is as strong as a p2w(inspiration X exclusive hero) people spending less money. You can’t make the main hero as strong as any option where people can sink a lot of money

I think the easier solution would be allowing you to walk around/ride mount as a gacha character. Dialogue would still be handled by your character, but at least then you don't feel like you're always playing as a wet noodle.

I think it would be cool to be able to push the main character to a certain element further with pretty good benefit.

I’d be fine if it took significant investment and resources to switch (or maybe even unable to switch each season). But it would be nice to see him able to fill the role of an exclusive that we might not of pulled that season.

Another reason why I want to have the main char to be significant again is that he is supposed to represent me the player in this world. I would love to have a way to further progess on him even if it means it will cost soul imprint as other char leveling up inspiration level. Look at it this way: he might be a gacha char that everyone will have, but he will only truly shine when you invest in soul imprints on him. And that will require investment just like any other char you pull from dice roll.

We can eve have an unique progess system for main char only, where you get to “design” your hero. You can choose his skill/ability via this system to make him viable in different situation. For example make him a tank, or damage dealer, or control, or buffer. I would gladly spend more if I can somehow make him into my team as I see fit, so there really is a sense of me leading the team venturing in this world. Give me a sense of role playing, however little that may be.

Or better to make the main Hero the hardest to level up. 5 soul imprints for 1 inspiration. 10 for inspiration 2, 15 for Inspiration 3, 20 for inspiration 4 and lastly 40 for Inspiration 5 souls imprints.

That should be about 90 Soul Imprints for the hero in total.

He should be the only Tier above all others with the best stats all round...

At least while going for other heroes, this main Hero will still have the most optimum importance in the game

And making me close to impossible to get but once you get on each inspirations, he is much more useful than others.
