It comes after first day fights is over. You get coins depending on how good you scored and can buy improvements for 2nd day.
And the shop icon will be on same screen just below "Season ranking' icon

All right ty, they really need to just give a full explanation of the event in 1 area so people can get the full picture and set expectations all at once, shop icon should always be there just not active yet so it's clear where to expect it to shop up, given all the shops for the other events are in the same Exchange area
