This is something I’ve been thinking about lately and something I’ve seen implemented in other gotchas. The ability to promote rare and legendary characters to the next rarity level.

This can be implemented by a once a season item that we receive through completing the seasonal quest line.

This item would be used like an inspiration for rare/epic hero just once a season. Every season you can promote your favorite character until they are legendary. Once the character is legendary you can continue to inspire once a season capped at 5.

I believe this would breathe life into a lot of unused characters and bring more verity into the game.

I also think these promotion/ inspirations should be non reversible. Or have a limited reset timer.

Sounds horrible to me, cause it wouldnt change the character itself only his basestats and therfore wouldnt help in making heroes viable. And changing their skills on doing this would make them a different hero

Not so, it would only change base stats until Legendary. Then the hero would have regular inspiration tree.

Either way Base stats means a lot. There are many well designed characters that are held back only by their base stats.

For example the forgotten Sigrid, outstanding design bad stats. I can give you many more. Eventually all epic and below are out paced by all legendary because of the inspiration system.

The whole premise is not to change the character just make it viable.

Also what Im proposing shouldn’t create a great imbalance. It would take at the earliest year and a half to fully inspire an epic and an additional 3months for a rare. Giving the game time to develop and allow natural power creep to keep it in check with a few adjustments to popular characters over time.
