If you look at the bug report section, it seems clear that the way the invites are set up was less than acceptable. Having two separate invite links for what should be the same event created a lot of confusion and attaching both pages to the same invite link shouldn't have been too difficult. I suggest next time an event like this be handled with this in mind to save a lot of irritation and confusion.
