Rather than doing season on season, let the players select the season they want to play in. At the start, allow the players to choose a season that they want to play in, with the pre requisite that they must have completed the season once before.

Even if a new guy started in s4 they wouldn't be able to compete with one that done all seasons

I like the suggestion with the added caveat that you have not access to heroes from future seasons (no Rook in s1!) and preferably it would be nice if seasons could have season-specific events with different mechanics that would make players want to replay them.
Could be complicated to have population for the different seasons maybe and it would be much better that everyone would have the same season start/end dates but it could also alleviate the need for new content/events/heroes if we had something like 1 seasonal rerun a year giving more time for the devs to create new stuff while players could revisit their favorite season.

Also like this option to be able to select what season we want to move next. It gives the option also to get heroes we didn’t have a chance
