#No more 'new' OP heroes for S4. Add DEPTH to current system via soul tokens.

I propose a new system to add variety and depth, rather than the current minimal change / a few new OP heroes power creep setup:

When you summon a dupe you get a epic or lego soul token.
These can boost a hero to unlock a secondary skill feature (battle and/or ultimate). These are intended to SYNERGISE with matching (or in rare cases, completely different) element damage types. Eg a rally hero can be soul boosted for a complementary aura skill. Dauntless for thunderbolt etc. Some examples:

  • use a soul token on Karf to allow his burn to increase allies' wild proc chance
  • make Nissa's thunderbolt proc create a chance to stun when attacked by a dauntless ally
  • Gragrir's alt (corrosion) allows an enemy's poison proc to reset by consuming corrosion damage
  • enhance shadow recharge based on number of summons created (or sacrificed) by a particular soul boosted summon hero
    This would yield the following benefits:
  • ability to utilise heroes we have now, and provide new utility to underloved / unscrolled heroes
  • makes things fairer as it is accessible to all (not just i-win for whales who manage to land exclusive legos eg Rook)
  • incentivises us to keep summoning (team still gets $$) to unlock all heroes' synergy capacity
  • will make the game 1000x more fun theorycrafting by unleashing so many new possibilities

You could also target certain heroes to soul boost to create VERY unique cross-elemental effects:

  • thunderbolt hero + frost = superconduction (lightning dmg boosted)
  • thunderbolt hero + rally = magnetise (enemies under this affect get pulled together)
  • burn hero + shadow = soul burn (unable to heal, negate invulnerable or dmg reduction effects)
  • shadow hero + aura = darkness (reduce enemy's skill AoE range)
  • corrosion hero + burn = melt (50% heal reduction and shield damage bypass)
  • summon hero + wild ally = corpse explosion on death

More creative thinking, less artwork replication and lazy gacha diceroll power creep season design. We all win.

those skill elemental effects could be interesting for the elemental affinity tree. they can go crazy there as its just for one season. and it would be way more interesting than a 50% crit bonus or a atk/ dmg bonus.

I'd say that ppl still want new heroes to keep them excited in the game, but introducing a whole new DMG type every season means that u gonna have 1 Lego from each DMG type unless u're ultra lucky or a whale ..

It is, that's what I mean, it's time to build on what we have available already, and not make more DMG types. Especially with thunderbolt being subpar, poison being useless, melee heroes being underpowered in most cases vs ranged ones and prices of Helio dice being so high.

I am still excited about the release of new heroes tho, but let them belong to the existing DMG types or if we rly need a new DMG type each season, let's ot have it be completely unplayable with the OG's

Rook is nr 1 DMG dealer, he's great on single target and AOE, one of the best picks for arena etc. This is too much.

Like I said above, I didn't claim it's an original concept, but I do believe it was copied from Raid and not from some unknown game. Raid definitely popularized a lot of these ideas just based on it's scale and player base.

Also Raid exists a lot longer than this game u mentioned, so clearly it isn't a game that can be copied from.

I'm just saying you can claim anything is copying from anything based on a loose connection. All of human history has basically been telling the same stories over and over but a little different. It's not like they copied the characters exactly and changed their names or something.
