Hi,
I'm not sure if it's a bug but it leaves me quite puzzled and would like to bring it to attention.
Today i was attacked by someone ranked 359 while i was ranked 11.
While it's arguably and hopefully not the final design to have people lose several rank reward ranges with a single attack. What bothers me is that even after several refreshes the highest rank i could attack is 262, which is extremely far away from the rank i lost on a single defense loss and that makes me wonder how someone else was able to attack me from such a lower rank.
Kind regards

Dear Traveler,

Thank you for reaching out and bringing this issue to our attention.

The current ranking rules can indeed result in significant drops in rank when losing to a lower-ranked player. When you are challenged and defeated by a lower-ranked player, your rank changes to match that of the challenger. If the challenger's rank changes during the battle, your new rank will reflect that change. For example:

Player A: Rank 11
Player B: Rank 30
Player C: Rank 359

If Player C defeats Player B, Player B’s rank changes to 359.
If Player B then defeats Player A, Player A’s rank changes to 359.

From Player A’s perspective, it appears as if they dropped directly from rank 11 to rank 359.

We understand that this can be quite frustrating. We appreciate you highlighting this issue, and we are planning to optimize the matchmaking rules tomorrow to address this concern.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thank you for your answer.
While this can sound plausible, it definitely does not convince me. I gotta question then, how the 359 was able to attack the 30 in the example. While I could only attack up to 260 from that rank. Btw I don't have a stall defence. Those fights are done within seconds.
But actually I don't care about arena that much. The mechanic behind it was just puzzling to me and since I managed to bring it to attention that's good for me.
I think there's already a suggestion as well for not being able to raise too many ranks with a single attack when being in the lower digits
