Enough is enough with the arena matching system. Either you deactivate the elemental affinity in arenas or you stop matching across servers with a massive gap in season calendar. I don’t know what kind of genius came up with this idea to use younger servers as cannon fodder for older ones but no one on my server is enjoying having their progression stopped because they are facing older server players with massive advantage from the affinity bonuses. The best proof of it is that even the biggest whales can’t break to the gold griffin rank which is logical when you are matching up with people that have 5 levels above you, 15% reduction damage and 15% or more increase damage. This also adds a wall to the earning of currencies and the progress of weakly arena events. This is why on my server a lot of people even remove their defences in order to drop low enough to find fair opponents from the matching system.
If you want to implement arenas in this game, which in my opinion is a complete moronic idea with this type of game play and character design ( the amount of stalling in arena factually justifies this opinion ), then at least you should ensure a level of fairplay. And please, don’t serve me the argument that this is needed because there is not enough players. I hear this argument way to often and it is complete tosh considering that
1- you are using bots / copies of existing player line ups already in match ups.
2- if there is not enough players to make the arena function on a given shard, then either the system is poorly scaled by design or this would send the signal that this game is dying which sounds like bad PR to me.

Enought with the lack of fairplay in arena matching
Well, there is no fair play, since it is pay-to-win. Idk how having elemental affinity removed will help you. Enjoy what you have or git gud (swipe).
This is a suggestion channel, not a trolling space.
Well, I agree, if you engaged with the game expecting it is going to be a fair experience - you got trolled, not by me though. Either way, I brought up a couple of suggestions, so your point does not hold up.
The elemental affinity is an issue when you face people from servers that are 2 weeks ahead. 15% damage reduction and 15% bonus attack from 5x synergy is not playable. So when you are on a younger server you either can’t win arenas for events without removing your own defence squad to get dropped on the ladder. And you simply can’t rank up.
if you are a top player and hit top ranks regularly, you should already have 3/3 last tier affinity at least for your main team. If you don't, you are not very much a top player and this issue is not very relevant to you. I'm far from a top player and have 4 out of 6 already.
I am second in 1v1, first in 3v3 on my server. Season 3
Our server level is 5 levels behind the people i have to face. So they are filling up last 2 tiers while we dont have yet points available
While I agree that placing players against other servers is a pain- You are likely to benefit just as much as you lose, from the psychicore issue.
The real imbalance will always be based on RNG in the end, since the best inspired pvp comps are pretty solidly ahead, so much that people will never catch up even with a massive psychicore difference.
The only way to make arena fair would be to use set stats like the limited time raid bosses, and that's hella boring.
I think the solution, as much as people that love pvp dislike it, is just that it's never going to be balanced in a meaningful way, and minimizing its effect on progression is the best we can do.
I am fine with most of this. But the major issue of this cross server match system is that it prevents anyone from younger servers to climb up the ranks. Because we can’t break through the gap in affinity bonuses until later game, but also we are cannon fodder for older servers dropping us under a certain rank depending on how far we are in the season. The cross server matching does not account for that effect on younger servers.
I sincerely think that pvp in a gacha is a lost cause. So any efforts to balance it will just make it a teensy bit more bearable. At least in this one we can maintain a competitive atmosphere in other aspects, like season rank.
cross server only applies for silver lion champ3 or above
so only the small group of whales should encounter such issues. the other thing to consider is that when you are later in the season, you will have your chance of winning against ppl who started the season
basically young servers will have a chance to climb up to silver lion champ 3
