Hi, I've had multiple autoraids and the autoraid ticket disappeared when I lost a battle. As far as I remember, they were being returned upon a defeat. Has this been changed?

Not a mod... but My experience is autoraid tickets get used on losses.
The multiplier (x2) does not get used on losses.
Perhaps there is a mix up in your understanding.

Regarding the Auto-raid Ticket and Multiplicative Challenge Ticket you asked about, after the auto-raid battle fails, the Auto-raid Ticket will be consumed, but the Multiplicative Challenge Ticket will not be consumed. Therefore, it is normal for the Auto-raid Ticket to be deducted after you lose the battle.
Our relevant team has verified your game data in the past two days and found that no Auto-raid Ticket has been consumed. Maybe when you failed in the previous battle, the Auto-raid Ticket was not deducted because you did not choose Auto-raid.
