Would be too easy and brake the point of beating it. Everyone would just build absurd tank teams and do auto
I don't agree completely. The experience of two seasons says that there is enough time. The time limit is one of the main mechanics of the pillars. If you remove it, the pillars will turn into goblin farming with high defense and attack stats.
Or give us a food buff that adds/slows time.
Could be some mercy mechanic for the final weeks of a season where you change it to 6 minutes for pillars, and provide double food bonuses for Fey for examples
Until you go against an ambush unit.
What is an ambush unit?
A unit that moves away from a tank and jumps behind your front line. My favorite is Questa, an Epic Necrosis unit. Super popular.
Oh okay. Those are pretty easy to counter because you just build one support full tank and its ok
Well to help f2p, i would say make it 7min, i have experienced it where excelling but because im out by a minute i lose, dont make it an absurd amount but an extra 2min still can be seen as reasonable, anything above 7minutes is not challenging anymore and just spoon feeding
It might help F2P but... For those that already clear it (personally so) it's still a challenge. If you make it easier for F2P, you'll make it "boring click 'next' content" for others.
The specific reason I hardly spend (but do spend a little) is to be able to clear it all, without making it too easy on myself. If content gets easier to accomodate F2P, should I then restart in S1 with an F2P char to keep it challenging?
It is an interesting topic. Should anyone HAVE to spend for legos and lego artis just to be ABLE to clear PVE content? Compete, sure… arena, sure… but just to complete content for rewards? I would like to think all aspects of the game should be theoretically clearable by f2p with good knowledge, skill and strategy… but light pillar 60? Yikes. If as a f2p you cant clear content like pillar or fey until maybe your third season when youve rolled enough dice to get lucky enough to have some key legos and artifacts… do they even make it to season 3?
I will hopefully be clearing fey and pillars this season finally (couldnt do it in s1)… and ive spent enough and had some awesome luck to get 3 lego artis and like 17 legos. And i think even adding 1 minute to pillar battles is reasonable… last season i couldnt finish light pillar by like 30 seconds… if not extend them then at least on light pillar alone reduce the healing the elementals get. No f2p is doing that without significant luck on pulls. Games shouldnt gate pve clear rewards to whales… competitive rewards sure, you pay to win. You shouldnt have to pay to clear…
Agreed on that it SHOULD be possible as F2P with proper knowledge, etc. However, it wasn't from the start and thus to 'fully' enjoy the game in every extend I payed to be able to do so. To accomodate both groups (screw whales, they'll clear it anyway) I'd suggest 1 of the following:
1: Start in S1 with 8min, S2 7min, S4 5 min or something similar to increase difficulty, but make it possible with a smaller selection of champs.
2: Give out the rewards for every 180stages you clear and not at stage 180 (thus clearing it in a season gives rewards faster (mainly a whole season earlier), but not clearing it doesn't mean that seasons artifact is lost forever).
Personally I'd be more inclined towards option 2 as that'd mean some artifacts that are very champ specific (fey S1 turtle shield on Lucien for instance) are obtainable for all & the strategies the combinations unlock are available to all, just not in the same season if you didn't push/pay/luck your way through it.
So again: I AGREE that it should be doable by F2P, even if it's only doable with some luck and crazy skill/effort.
But due to the fact that it wasn't so I don't think you can nerf it to make it easier, especially as seasons progress

whales still benefit from getting artifact early, ppl who like challenge still get their challenge, f2p still get a chance by playing longer
I also feel that light pillar heal is absurd. especially in season 1 (there are only so few heroes that can do heal prohibition in rally/lightning) and your other choice is pretty much to find a way to outdps the heal
i worked on light 60 all morning with various different comps. my closest to winning was vidimir, rava, vinyara, ardreth, garius... vinyara on hourglass to quick cycle the attack down and ult redux, garius staff, rava witch remains... i got boss to 30% remaining health and timed out. every other combination i try i either time out earlier or die horrible due to too much aoe, not enough debuffs or shields or heals... for someone who has put in over $500 in two seasons (baby dolphin) but plays every day like 10 hours... i should be able to complete this. it is friggin ridiculous. "just use Ice Blast" is the usual advice, except if you didnt pull bleddyn and gerthin you are basically screwed. zhorak is useless, nord is too weak, let's not talk about seidic... so if i didn't pull bleddyn and gerthin or shinnah or belldelle or lorentheel/alton + philto/huberg or auster/hvitar i just cant clear it? seems lame. and beyond frustrating for someone who has really tried hard.
but you give me +1 minute and guess what, i cleared it. barely.

Hmm. It's the only 100% ultimate healing prohibition so I'm not sure why
The issue is getting through the two stages before the boss for me with Nessa
issue is lack of dps, nessa just doesnt really do it if you cant cover the dps she'd normally be doing in that slot. my runs just ignore the elementals and focus the boss... was like 20-30% left with time out without killing elemental
not sure anout s2. but s1 i was using, tathlyn, philto, garius, nessa and i think nat. philto = 60-70% dmg...
and even then, it was a close fight
i cant imagine how to clear without philto.
