The skill starts at 8% max hp. Skill upgrades gives +5%, then +10% to shield. It must be a bug that it's multiplicative (8.15%) instead of additive (23%) like most every skill upgrade in the game because the shield is just too small for the it's purpose of protecting against control. If the damage is greater than the shield, it does not protect against the control. My Lucien currently has 101,970 max hp. The shield it's giving is (101970 * .8) * .15 = 9381 (see images). That is very small compared to even epic shielders (20K+ HP) and they can recast it. Lucien is legendary and can't recast it. How can you protect against control if most of the time the enemy's CC attack will be greater than the shield. If it was additive, like it should be, in my case the shield would be 8+5+10 = 23%, so 101,970 x .23 = 23,453 hp, which seems more in line with what it should be. Please look into this. 8% to 8.15% at full upgrade is just crazy currently.

Hello Traveler, thank you for reaching out to us we're so glad to serve you.
Regarding Lucien issue, kindly be informed that we have reported the issue to our expert team and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your time and support
I think Chance is the only thing that isn’t multiplicative. Most of the abilities are multiplicative, e.g. Hekandra’s 20% Max HP Ultimate heal has a +5%/+10%/+15% scroll boost (total: +30%) and gives a total of +26% max HP for the Ult (20 * 1.30)
If that's the case, then they need to increase the percentages. I take issue that a legendary hero's shield which only casts once is about 1/3, 1/2 that of epics. Main character's shield is even better. If they aren't going to increase the shield to make the control immunity worth anything, then maybe just add a control immunity buff (10s) instead so the shield is not an issue. I would prefer the shield be increased so it helps with defense. Given almost broken shield mechanics like the staff and Andreth with the staff and the huge shields that other heroes can get, increasing the shield for Lucien would be the obvious fix.
Thanks for your patience. @sage wadi
After verification by our relevant team, the calculation of the upgraded shield value is based on the original shield value, and then multiplied by the increased ratio.
For example, the original shield value is 101970*8% = 8157.6
Based on this shield value, the upgrade is 8157.6 * (1+5%+10%) = 9381.24
Therefore the numerical calculation is correct and meets the needs of game design.
Hope my answer will be helpful to you. If you still have questions, please feel free to contact me.
Lucien probably doesn't need fix. 100k HP is unlikely to be the limit of his max HP, you might have focus a bit more on def%
If you have like 140k HP. It is a lot more shield
Also I am seeing Luciens used frequently in hvitas lineup in champion arena... Buffing him will make those teams even more crazy.

Thank you for looking into it. If the multiplicative calculation is by design, what about the design for the character to prevent control? That is ineffective with the low shield value. The shield for a legendary just seem very small and not in line with other shielders, especially if you consider it's only casted once and the fact that it can't be broken for the control immunity to work. 8% to 8.15% is really a ridiculous upgrade and is a waste of two skill points. I hope the skill can be reviewed with the rest of the shielders in mine and hopefully improved in the future. I think something like 10% base with 20%, then 30% upgrade would be a good start. With 100K hp, that's still just a 15K shield, which isn't much, but definitely a decent upgrade that will prevent more control than it does now. Thanks.
@zinc iris 140K HP = 11.4k shield, which is nothing. He's used, but mainly for his CC. That doesn't mean half his kit is not semi-broken because it doesn't fulfil the original design of the character to prevent control.
Lucien is fine. This passive specifically counters Ellecebre.
