3 things...

  1. i think it would be beneficial to all that when you sell equipment, you recover a portion of the materials used to craft them, not just gold. this also increases the amount of materials farmed, as you'd get some back when selling equipment that is useless. say an items costs 5 materials for a legendary gear piece. you craft it for 5 matrials and 6000 gold, sell it and get back 1 or 2 materials + 35,000 gold. so if i farm up 50 materials and craft 10, sell all 10 because they are trash... at least i can attempt to craft another 2 pieces... just a thought to help reduce the burden of bread stamina required to farm up decent gear pieces without having to just give more bread away.

  2. allow players to at the least select the gear slot they want to craft... there are only 4 slots, but for some reason i cant stop crafting weapon and body pieces... i'm sitting here bleeding bread stamina, coming away with 2 pieces of sets, and it is infuriating. sure, the drops themselves from the boss should be randomized... but how about the crafting part of it be more targeted? if i was smithing an item for real, i'd be deciding on what i'm making, be it a weapon or gauntlets... it is pretty dumb to craft RANDOM pieces.

  3. to take #2 above further, perhaps allow players to craft not only the gear slot but the SET they are looking to craft. again... drops from bosses can be completely randomized. main stats for body and hands, completely randomized... sub stats randomized... but at least let us choose the set we want, in the slot we want.

And for runes... just remove element completely. make all runes generic element like artifacts. Main and sub stats are far too painful to farm for just those 2 slots for it to make sense that we have 6 different elements to do it in...

Maybe even make the set part be part of the Skill Check (maybe a higher DC) Right now, it’s just used to get Iron back, but maybe if you succeed on the skill check you get an item of the specific set, otherwise it’s randomly chosen from all the options (and may still be the selected one, but not guaranteed)

I just know plenty of games that itemize so far down materials and other components but in DH it is completely randomized garbage. 90% of the time the gear you craft gets nuked anyway… why not at least let us pick set? It is a lazy lazy mechanic for the level of effort you have to grind in this game

I totally agree with you on that , plus every effort you put into and stamina and time is wiped clean for next season . It is absolute waste of recourses , like for me today 1500 stamina gone and I have maybe 1 or 2 pieces that are useful ( all together drops and crafted ) , and is always a randomized craft . It drive to madness when I craft 50+ pieces of gear and all flat stats or from set that I don't need , it is infuriating and I'm just on season 1 lol , you must be bold by now with season 3 .

I dont mind the season wipe but do mind feeling like im wasting my time all season with no realistic expectation that by the end i should have even ONE TEAM geared with near ideal stat range… it would still be strategic to farm certain sets and units for xp… but if everyone could conceivably achieve DECENT GEAR reasonably… we still are competing in a lot of ways. It is terrible that we compete against the game just to gear even close to acceptably…

The reset of the season is supposed to be a strategic balance and reset of competition elements - fun. But it wouldnt feel as oppressive if we could all reasonably get a stable team or three worth of gear.

Like hey by week 9 out of 12 i have a full dauntless setup… and i have a full non dauntless setup that is more burst instead of basic attack focused… and maybe i have a derivative damage team worth of gear. 3 tanks, 3 supports… and that is all i need

But even if it takes 8-9 weeks to get there and build 15 teams for ow… that is reasonable

target crafting has to be released to all if released.

I would suggest instead of #1 another system.
Leave it be with random gear you get but put in a dismantle option. Dismantling will give you for each respective gear Scrap (f.e. legendary gear dismantling gives legendary scrap).
With that scrap you can change one bonus.
An approach would be f.e. 10 scrap to redo one bonus. Your item will get set back to 0, so you have to be careful on how much money you want to spend on lvling it up.
It will make perfecting gear better. You have to optimize your question of "which gear do I dismantle and which gear should I sell" and you do get more reasonable chances at getting the gear you actually want rather than plain farming to hopefully get your desired gear.
