Alliance Defense should be on a separate gear set similar to the way arena is. It could even be the same gear set as arena, since it is PvP related. It being on the same gear set as the PvE gear set means that any time you swap your gear to do a dungeon, Fey Meander, or Pillar of trails, your Alliance defense runs the risk of being compromised.

Is this confirmed how it works? I assumed if you had the gear equipped on the champions at the time of the reset that gear would stay on them? Does it change whenever you change gear or are you assuming?

I think so. I've set up my defense, and gone back to look at it after doing pve stuff, and they were in equipment disarray.

how do you look at the gear they are wearing after the alliance battle starts?
the way I assumed it worked was as long as the gear is on when the reset happens on the day of the clan fight then it takes a 'snapshot' of that gear and uses it, but I was just wondering if anybody has tested this or had confirmation one way or another.
Regardless, they need to have it match your arena gear at the very least, or have it completely separate.

I'll need to retest after server reset, S2 about to start. But I didn't look at the gear after battle starts. Happened when in setup phase. I did notice a lot of opponents without gear, or partial gear,during the season as well. But maybe they did that on purpose.
