There is a problem with your suggestion. The game can't really check gear and not pair you with overpowered players. What it does is pair you with players that have similar points, so if your opponent is in the same point range then you can get him.
You can roll for new opponents.
But what I'd like to read about is an alternative how they should do it. I have the same opponents over and over again but I honestly have no idea how to do it differently in a good manner. If you have a good idea how please let the devs know 🙂
