@neon veldt Hello Traveler,
Regarding Dain's ult skill issue we would like to let you know that the current setting of Dain in the game is like this. We recommend you to test the blood volume of the heroes and the order of entering the battle to see the enemy selection rules of Dain ult skill.
Regarding your feedback about no visual sign that Dain's passive ability works, kindly note that In the game now, passive skills do not display the icon of the effective buff, only combat skills and ult skills will be displayed.
But please don't worry we've reported your feedback and passed it to our Dev team and we'll definitely take this into consideration and we will do more optimization in the future. keep enjoying the game and have a great time.

"see the enemy selection rules of Dain ult skill"? excuse me, but his ult targets allies only, so what enemies has to do with it?
"test the blood volume of the heroes" I'm afraid I have to ask you to translate this to English because I have no idea what you mean
"the current setting of Dain in the game is like this" in that case can you explain what exactly happens when he puts Ally Protection buff on himself (as he currently does)?

Dear @neon veldt,

We would like to let you know that the skill description of Dain also includes "friendly targets" which comprises Dain himself.

Furthermore, Dain's ultimate skill defaults to selecting friendly targets based on the percentage of the heroes' health on the battlefield. If all friendly heroes on the battlefield are at full health, it selects based on the order they are placed in.
We hope the above explanation helps you.

Thank you for your kind patience and understanding!🫶

Sure, that makes sense. But the problem is: what does Ally protection buff do when placed on himself? Because based on buff description it does nothing, and if that 's true Dain should be excluded from list of possible targets of his ult (unless of course there are no other targets in range of skill).
