Problem: When my friend and I started we didn't realize we defaulted to different servers and didn't know it mattered until we progressed high enough to start an alliance together and found that we couldn't. I even started an alliance and leveled it up enough to unlock the alliance server invite only to learn that it doesn't transfer your character, it starts a new character (pointless).
My friend and I both participated in the pre-launch event and therefore got free epics from that and we also both made purchases from the store. Neither of those things can be transferred to a new character if we use the alliance code for one of us to change servers. So, one of us would have to sacrifice progress, purchases, and all the event & promo code benefits we have earned in order for us to play together. This is disappointing and is resulting in my friend considering whether we should just start a different game together instead.
Seems that there should be a way (even if it costs a fee) to transfer your account to a different server to remedy this. Or at least have an option to transfer your progress at the end of a season.
