This is simply my opinion, feel free to add yours below.

I appreciate the skill's usefulness and the simple game design of how skilling works, ***the feel of the Farming skill just sucks. ***

It feels like I am planting a seed and then watching a single plant grow in a pot that sits on my second floor window. Not farming anything substantial where I actually need a rake.

I'm not really looking to toss out specific changes, but the normal skilling timer of processing a single seed at a time just doesn't deliver the same "game feel" like it does in several other skills. This is especially true when going down to lower seeds.

I am less than 25 total levels from 2400/2400 on my GIM -- and looking back on the skilling portion of the journey, I simply think this skill should have a different feel much like enchanting does; where it can be "trained" while other things are going on; just incorporate timers for the "growing" portion.

Agree. Not sure on good suggestions either outside of using a patch system in OSRS and the “active” skill time would be you managing the patches with a rake. Initial thought would be:

6 patches, each have a % health system that ticks down over time and you can put 6x of one seed to get a ton, or go like 3x tomato + 3x papaya to upkeep combat and swift pot materials.

Depending on game balance we could have patch maintenance be automated/slowed with a constant gold or item sink(which would also prop up seed output value but might devalue seeds like in OSRS) could also allow more patches to be accessible as well with gold/items

Yeah id like to see multiple patches so I can decide what to focus on. Have additional actions such as fertilizing to increase yields, watering to reduce timers. Growth stages that need to be tended to before they can advance to the next stage. And when fully grown, an option to harvest and cut down the plant for a larger batch of xp, or simply harvest the fruits for smaller xp and allow them to regrow for additional harvests.
