I'm very new to this game, like one hour new but I love it so far! Been looking for a game like this for a good while!
I've got a suggestion around the activity bar. Would it work to add a progression "highlight" to the side menu so you can quickly see what activity is active? Could also work adding it to the pop-out menu.
Maybe it would be too much happening on the screen but if it could be done subtle I think it would look nice!

I like this idea, it happened way too often to me that I forgot to set up any task going before heading off to bed
