Characters are only allowed to heal after they've been attacked directly. It seems odd to watch one sit at 23 hp for 6 turns while there's 120+ pieces of cooked food available for consumption. The character in question did end up getting killed because of this aversion to eating.

Normal healing behavior has everyone eat after an attack so you only die from lack of food or multiple big hits. You spend your precious raid time gathering food resources and they don't even want to use them.

It works this way in all combat. You only eat when targeted, whether you get hit for 0 or actually take damage, not when someone else is targeted.
You do eat multiple times if targeted by multiple enemies at the same time though

Take a normal boss like this picture for example. Masquerine got attacked next turn and Masquerin healed in response.

In raids Masquerin wouldn't have healed

Huh I don't recall it working like that before but it definitely does now lol

It was really apparent in a 3 man raid when one boss died super early, so with the 3 chars alive I could watch as two constantly got pegged while the third just didn't bother healing at all. Was also my first raid where that character died while still having tons of food.
