#Genius idea for the longevity of the game.

Seasons. Like poe/d3 etc. Have it split into current and then new seasons. Have to figure out how to incorporate rewards into it that would presumably go to the main "save", but i'm sure yall can come up with something.

It'll shake up the leaderboards etc, since as it stands, Neon will be #1 until he quits the game. While i'm sure there's skill involved, can't outskill the time diff in a game like this, and seasons would shake that up.

Could add gimmicks to each season, like double combat drops, etc etc so it shakes up the strats for how to level etc. Would probably have to disable player shops and only allow clan vault?

Would take a long while to make this, but it's an idea to give the game new life over the years etc.

I like the concept of having something isolated which puts everyone on an equal footing but I dont think that seasons is the way to implement it. You could have a new batch of content which could have seperate skills to grind on which would not be enhanced by anything in the base game but instead these new skills could provide bonuses to stuff in the main game.

Event scenarios fit better, i.e. every month or so, there's a new scenario where everyone starts from zero within the scenario while their main progress continues, and prizes (maybe redeemed with event points scored) could be taken back to the main game. Should be clan-based, since this game is about clans (e.g. prehistoric scenario where clans fight dinosaurs, upgrade caves, mine and craft stone weapons for three weeks, earning individual points that can be spent on special gear, or a pet dino, or heaps of ores brought back to their main game, while clan also earns points that can be spent on clan wide trophies that boost member stats etc)

Instead of seasons, how about seasonal events? Easier to manage, no resetting, and can be totally fun! same suggested prizes, etc. (as posted in another thread.)

Xeo and Quacken combined. Seasonal events that are clan focused. Would be cool. Let's hope.

Had an idea like this for another game I was making at the time:

Opt-in only time-boxed seasons for competitive play for new features only. Presumably, these features would change the meta of the game. Open a completely separate server with the new feature that changes the meta, and have people blitz to test the limits of it. Gives @humble haven a chance to thoroughly test longer-term consequences of new stuff without upsetting the balance of the main game. Best chance to find exploits to new feature code is to let a bunch of uber-competitive nerds min/max the entire thing. Could limit entry to Premium only to help recoup hosting costs of a new set of servers, and offer some vanity rewards for participants -- the real benefit is first-hand understanding the ins-and-outs of new features before general pop right when it hits

(Sorry for the ping Temsei! But this is a killer idea I want to pass along from one dev to another)

I've recently been going over something similar in my head as well. Basically a public stage server that would be available to supporters for playing and testing new content early with some fun mechanics to promote competition instead of it just being a testing ground. No idea if Patreon would be something people would want to get into to support Idle Clans development but it would fit well and ideally help me go full time
