I watered it too much... specifically about 4-5 times

this was originally a desert sand tile, so it's odd to see the buried seed mound turn into dirt

Plausible, since watering a plant too much can kill it in real life too.

I would've stopped, but I made sure it said in chat "you helped it grow" every time. I thought I'd get a warning or message in chat when I overwatered it to the point of death
