Also on an unrelated note that barrier "nerf" seems more like a buff concealed as a nerf
The 2 second cooldown increase changes almost nothing and now it just straight up punishes people for using their projectile ability
it does around 80 dmg if they’re standing still

i have a few critiques about the boss fight itself atm
i feel like the boss fight was rushed too quickly when hoj won the mastery votes
it just feels like useless projectile spam that finds a way to corner you and reset your run
currently some attacks chain one on top of the other creating for situations where you completely have no way of getting out of damage such as when the straight line arrows and the sword field attack chain on top of eachother where the slower moving swords which mark as a safe zone are in the range of the arrows
the way to damage the boss is also really terrible imo
paladin mastery had this cool gimmick of forcing the boss into the pillars to stun them
hoj mas is just use e until the boss dies maybe an idea could be to give the player a sword that does slightly more damage then the e during the boss fight as well as give the boss some form of way to get stunned/temporarily stop using attacks
also make attacks cancel when you die
U can kill paladin boss without making him stun on pillars

its a neat gimmick
hopefully UBW is added into the mastery as a better version of the non mastered version.

I think the issue is that the RANGED part of the ability is way more rewarding than the stunner that can be dodged more properly, I dont own this mastery so take it with a grain of salt, but I have fought against a ton of them at the same time, and the main issue is that while everything else will barely get you low (as usual) the ranged attack can take over 70% of your total health

The bossfight in itself is fine, its just that It causes the Game Recov to just spike up, making it just a 50/50 guessing when ur screen freezes (iv tryed to reduce the Graphics, but nothing changed)(this is a very common issue with almots all bossfights in the game.)
but generly speaking, i suggest the devs to stop making bossfights related unlocks, cuz its just not made for the server and the game itself.

The portal isn't a problem for me tbh u can move right east or left west or west north to dodge it
Was still a really cool feature, was wishing mastery would have more control over it's dimension, like gingerbread where they can perm open or close the portal

I think it should be like minions spawn in the portal now liek the hoj minion can be in the portal and there's like 2 of them and the hoj has increased movement or smth but it should be hard for someone to get in the dimeson as compastion

the boss can attack you right as you spawn in and the hitmarkers to show where its gonna attack are not accurate and i find myself getting hit by its attacks when i am far out of the hit range that is displayed

i think getting hit as u spawn in will get a patch since it’s something we called out during testing, and the indicators being weird is prolly cuz of high ping
i only had like 12 ping during jt

Hi echidnectar, i am here to inform you about the hoj boss being unbalanced and with my low performance device i simply cant beat it with its near impossible to react to abilities and how much they do, please we need to nerf the boss's damage at the very least.

The boss fight wasn't really fun to play, its just projectile spam and sometimes there would be no way to dodge the sword since the boss can do multiple attacks at once.
With the mastery, its cool, but i personally like normal hoj more than the mastery

The big sword is impossible to dodge if you stopped moving a single second before the attack
And since the sword can do ~1/3 of your hp
u have to be constantly moving
personally the big sword only hits me if i’ve been stunned from a different move
it’s coded like that on purpose
Its hard to be constantly moving when your on mobile and you have to pause to aim to attack the boss

But besides the criticisms I feel like the boss idea and ability are really cool
i mean the one that he uses to airstrike you

here are my thoughts: The unmastered HOJ feels like a upgrade to the mastered one cuz of a few things:
First of all the mastery doesnt have the two things people liked about the unmastered version, that being the minion and the "domain"
The so called domain was really fun as it made you feel very powerfuul and a great reward for completing all the badges, and the minion was a very unique thing no one has seen before so the removal of these things suck.
heres my personal opinion to repair this:
E: can stay as it is, being able to gilgamesh is really fun and is honelly the best thing about the mastery as of right now.
Q: instead of the chains that work very weirdly ther ecould be a minion spawn hoever it would be a kind of archer like the one u have in the unmastered hoj just without the explosion and with lower damage.
R: At max charge would teleport you to the domain
Also in the domain: your R unsheatches the sword making it very powerful nad giving you good range and once summoned, pressig it again would make a spin slash.
the Q would summon 3 minions with a that two of them have swords and one is a archer but with slightly more damage.
the E would do the same thing.
Also the passive in the normal would would be haveing your swrod all the time, and the kill bar would be raplaced with a % bar as kills are unreliable to get and the % feel much more fun.
The e could have a lil less dmg tho

Hoj mastery is like giving the range of bounty Mas and damage of vampire to fucking burger
It takes no skill, can hit you from ANYWHERE, you can aim the swords, it’s horrid.
Remove the sword aiming and it be honest it wouldn’t be as miserable of an ability, just hard to kill.

- Number 1: rushed bossfight
The boss is just projectile spam + that one recycled sword attack from day of deus. The gameplay is just pray you don't get locked in a combo and spam E until you win, which lasts even shorter than day of deus. The boss isn't even difficult it's just unfun - Number 2: The ability itself
- Why the hell does E do 80 damage? Why does it have aim assist on top of the big damage? Did we learn nothing from the volley incident?
- Q is just an unavoidable stun, especially obnoxious when paired with E for guaranteed 80 damage
- R is fine, it's just a reskin of unmas HOJ E
- R.1 (the laser of die) feels like it doesn't do anything, it may be just me but it just keeps aiming towards the center and doesn't do jack
The ability feels rushed and in terms of actual fun a downgrade fompared to unmas. For a mastery of an ability that is locked behind a lot of badges, I expected something more complex and difficult to use, not yet another addition to the "rangeslop" category
- Number 3: other stuff I found/knew
- E is just a better version of defender mastery 2nd path archer ability (lightstorm), does archer just not exist now?
- E has no spawn cooldown, so yoy can respawn cycle E and kill people with 0 counterplay other than hiding in a cave
- R.1 can be charged by killing aliens, probably includes other NPCs
Dawg the freaking boss fight is so impossible on low end devices i lowk get 12 to 5 fps as soon as the fight starts
And now every angry child will be using HOJ mastery to target you should you kill them once, that includes the super poorly balanced E

I feel the mastery was a step down from the original; from multi-mode, unique ability with its own combat realm, npc, and weapon (we overall don’t see abilities that change m1s temporarily) to just another normal e q r (albeit the r is unique in having a charge and two different ways to use it, and relying on kills rather than damage for the bar) is kinda underwhelming. While I myself don’t have ideas to make hoj more unique or match the base, I feel hoj didn’t deserve a mastery for a similar reason: you really can’t really top base hoj and make it not underwhelming.
Kinda detailed criticism, although I don’t have much to add into any of this other than the fact that “mode” abilities weren’t gonna get masteries, and defender was an exception, so it should’ve been excluded in the poll afterwards for top 10. (brickbattler was also excluded, so I feel this poll was favoring hoj a lot.)

the fight sucks, you don't heal at all, if you could heal PASSIVE, not through some bullshit thing where theres orbs, like i mean healing as a passive, and make the cd shorter
32 oneshot combos:

the biggest problem is how unrewarding the beam u get at 3 kills, i mean its very situational but should be changed, also the whole arsenal of hoj mastery is kinda mediocre, normal hoj is better (mostly beacuse saber & and the dimension but still)
It should have just been another attack, with a long cooldown, instead of a kill streak
but ngl i prefer if it was a percentage like bone mastery but charges less fast per hit/ability hit, idk if theyll change it but u dont even get a kill charge if u kill someone by hitting them off the map which is why percentage is probbaly better imo because if u hit someone off u still get charge cuz u hit them
and like actual combat wise normal hoj is relatively better than mastery hoj, saber is already kinda annoying to deal with(depending on the circumstances), the dimension has like a 50 50 to not even teleport the other guy back to spawn map (idk if they fixed tat yet)
Oh yeah, a hit charge like railgun or bone mastery would also work
the Q hitbox is unfathomably bad, you could go at the direction of your enemy and the hitbox will still somehow miss

This has been said before but for a mastery of an ability that requires a lot of badges, I expected it to have a lot of complexity and not yet another rangeslop ability that does over 50 damage with one move

guys i tried many times defeat yourself on mobile i couldnt, but when i got on my pc (i didnt do any warm up), on first try i got the boss to 10%, and i won on the third to fourth try, even tho the boss is easy on pc, it is hell on mobile, bisically nerf boss on mobile and buff for pc players

the hero of justice must be strong because this is one of the most difficult abilities to gain in the game.
meanwhile hero of justice being able to oneshot you in whats basically an undodgeable combo

just because it is the hardest to obtain doesn't mean it is actually that difficult
additionally, once players have it, they are free to use it to their heart's content, its not even limited or anything meaning players WILL eventually get it
and then the issue of the ability being so overpowered arises once more

redo the "removed lag" change, my frame rate goes to 2 on the boss
my only issues with the boss are:
- attacks are too frequent
- there's no setting for toggling the ground debris nor attack VFX
- wacky hitboxes
those are sort of my only issues with the boss so yeah
make E have slow turning that gets slower the longer you hold it so people dont exclusively do max charge
make E unusable during Q and Q unusable while charging E
make Q mouse-aimed with a max distance of 10 studs

Please fix the boss battle the abilities it uses gives so little time to move around and I hate when I spawn back and I spawn directly into his ability and please make it so we even have enough time to react to a ability he uses
also make it so when people jump off it counts twards your giant beam counter

god punch is VERY skilled
you have to go through the entire effort of pressing M1
and occasionally the god forbidden E!!!
It is so skilled even i cant handle the skill
cuz a group of teamers wipe me out!
god punch should get a buff to deal with ranged abilities
the reason that you don't main god punch is because you are not skilled enough to wield it!
