8/20/25 Update Bug: Using Vale Research points no longer gives Greenmask Collection Log Slot

Based on a user here in ⁠osrs-chat and this post https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/1mw1fgl/no_clog_for_buying_item_with_vale_research_points/ there seems multiple cases where there's a bug where you can no longer fill this slot by buying with the minigame points which would be inconsistent with every other minigame?

The blog post (https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/more-doom-tweaks-poll-84--summer-sweep-up-changes?oldschool=1) specifically states

"Fixed an issue where certain tradeable items could incorrectly fill Collection Log slots if sold and repurchased from a general store - slots will now only register when obtained from the correct source"

which implies general stores (ie buying onyx back from general store to fill slot) and not minigame shops like vale totems with the greenman mask. Has anyone successfully filled their clog slot after this update by buying it from the shop? Is this intended or straight up bug?

Annoyingly I just went to try and test this on an alt Iron and you get the CLOG slot for the bowstring spool if you buy it, potentially they have fixed this? if I get spooned like 4 knives i'll try it on mask

I bought the Greenman Mask the day after the update. It didn't work. I assume it's because the Greenman Mask is technically tradeable on GE but as an iron this feels like a bug.

Has to be a bug. Haven't heard of anyone getting the clog after the update

Just bought knife with research points as a main, gave me collection log

Are you willing to try the greenman mask? I think it is specifically bugged bc it's tradeable on the GE and the fletching knife isn't
